Asking for forgiveness because you are scared doesn't cut it either. One must truly repent and be changed.
You and I aren't capable of seeing this.
Christianity is based around an innocent man who was wrongly sentenced.

Anyway, someone I don't know (my page is full of people I don't know) had lost a family member and posted a heartfelt memorial, and of course their circle were extending condolences. Standard fare, including the comforting reminder that "we'll be with them again forever in Heaven"

which got my quirky brain to thinking...

What do people who suffered physical, psychological or sexual abuse at the hands of deceased family members do when they die and go to heaven? Are the abused and abusers forced to awkwardly endure each other's presence....for eternity?

It's my understanding that the abusers can toss the 'Get Out Of Hell Free' card by repenting their sins, so I can only presume those who do will be granted access.
    Mr. webrockk,

Repenting your sins means so much more than saying "sorry."

The mother of the first Jewish president is watching him being inaugurated on TV. She says to someone also watching, "see that guy with his hand raised? His brother's a doctor."
    Thanks from RNG and Rasselas

Not the point. The point is that Jesus was punished for a crime in which He was blameless.

    Mr. Rasselas,

But he was set up by the Jewish Priesthood. Pilate insisted that he saw no basis for the charges against him, but the Priest insisted that Jesus called himself the "Messiah," which would have been an act of sedition against Roman rule. Remember, the Romans were perfectly happy that the Priest were fleecing the common people as long as they kept them in check.
