Tell Me More About How Catholics Aren't Really Christians

I've recently read a member here on Political Hotwire state that Catholics aren't really Christians. I'm unfamiliar with this opinion and would love to learn more from those who believe that way. Any contributions would be appreciated.

Bet you it was a Fundamentalist. In their opinion only they are Christians. Everybody else is doomed and that includes Anglicans, Methodists, Baptists, Hindus, and so on and so forth. They are not as bad as atheists according to some here on PH. Hell is hell for all of them but apparently some hell is worse than other hells. Fundamentalists think are they only ones going to heaven according to these crack pots. It's going to be pretty shocking for them I suppose when the neighborhood isn't segregated in heaven like they hoped.

yeah, I've seen that also, it would appear that their Christ is better than our Christ.

But they think only a tiny portion of that 2 billion are "real" Christians and are "saved".

This is from Mrs. RNG the fundie: First, they de facto worship the Pope. Then they worship the Virgin Mary plus a whole bunch of saints. (And it's supposed to be a monotheistic religion so they are only allowed three.- My interjection.)

And they put more emphasis on good works as the key to heaven rather than believe that Jesus is one's savior.

I'm not saying that's how it is, but that's how she thinks it is.
Thanks from Ian Jeffrey, Friday13, PACE and 3 others

I think it has to do with some believe one has to be 'born again' and Catholics do not. Of course many Catholics also think that Protestants aren't Christian either. Anyway, not all Protestants feel that way about Catholics. I certainly don't.

They were the very first christian religion, that might give them reason to believe all those whom departed the faith are wrong, and they wait with open arms.
