That is how many treat it, but that is not what it is for. Rather, it is to recognize that the finite and limited cannot comprehend the infinite and unlimited, and that the question "why" cannot be answered.

If gods are so petty that your own beliefs are enough to piss them off, then you don't stand a chance of making them happy anyway.

I'm an atheist. Not an agnostic. Atheist.

Devil 505 has only help to confirm my own long time suspicion - that agnostics are just atheists that lack the courage of their conviction.

Exactly...if god is supposed to be benevolent , would he deny me access to heaven for not believing he existed? That would be a cruel God

I usually use "atheist of Jewish heritage," but that's about the same thing.

I'm curious...how "Jewish" are you? I mean, I hear people say I am "culturally Jewish", like it's possible to separate the culture, and heritage from the religion. But, aren't practically all of the Jewish cultural traditions religious in nature? I'm not being flippant, or trying to be insensitive. I am honestly curious about that whenever someone tells me they are "culturally Jewish".

If there were a God, we wouldn't have Trump as president.

Jews have always been scapegoated throughout history and survival has created a culture. We had to live in ghettos and there is a certain ethos Jews have with each other. It's ethos...like black people have. A familiarity with the things non Jews cannot connect with. It's really hard to explain.
