If that is fact, you may consider that the jewel in your trans-Atlantic crown.

My main bitch with polls is that each should be preceded by a disclaimer that says "a poll of xxxx people who can't afford call display or have no life shows that XX% are against <something>".

Christopher Hitchens once argued that 'if one is only moral because one is shitting one's pants regarding punishment in the afterlife, then such an individual has no sound basis for a moral code what so ever' [para.].

Whereas, many atheists base their moral code on simply treating others as one expects to be treated.

What the country is seeing is a winnowing out of the Christian Churches. The old mainline Protestant churches that spawned liberalism in the U.S. are dying. It stands to reason as the liberals in the 21st century lean atheist.

Evangelical churches, on the other hand, are growing. These churches have people who actually believe.

Liberal churches are dying. But conservative churches are thriving.

True Christianity isn't a religion. There are many that will answer "No" when asked if they are religious.

Plus, He has rules and shit, that can really cramp a good time, as well as our never-ending pursuit of instant gratification, sans any consequences......
Man has rules, not god. Have you spoken to god and asked what rules we should follow? Then why are there so many sects of Christianity alone that all have different rules? Is god that much of a screw up he can't get his "rules" clear?

And talk about "instant gratification, sans any consequences" that sounds a lot like religious people ande the belief that you just have to confess your sins to god and will be forgiven. Sounds like Christians have the same desires

Interesting ... in 20 states, the largest religious group is "Unaffiliated." The odds are very high that it will be at least 23 the next time the poll is conducted, since current trends strongly indicate that Wisconsin, Ohio, and Minnesota will be added to the list. Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ohio are also on the cusp.

Where are you getting your objective definition of "true Christianity?"
