Every Christian is making the same gamble. If Islam is the "correct" religion, those who followed the Christian faith stand to lose everything.

That's the Homer Simpson question. "What if we picked the wrong religion? Every week we're just making God madder and madder!"

Actually, you, and Pascal made a bit of a leap there. Even were someone to present the evidence I require to move me off of the "God does not exist" position, all that does is prove that divinity exists. From there there are 4,200 different religions in the world. So, Christians, even if God exists, still only have a 1 in 4,200 chance of actually choosing the right belief system in order to have their "happy ending". Not nearly as binary as Pascal presents it.

Every religious adherent is an atheist in another's religion. I just believe in one less than that person ~ paraphrased from Christopher Hitchens.

    Absolutely.

Also, I never understood the idea that if someone spends his whole life in pious worship of a God that doesn't exist, and constantly deprives himself of anything pleasurable, and when he falls short and does something pleasurable, must repent for it and be riddled with guilt about his "weakness" has lost nothing when he dies and there is no God to welcome him to heaven.

Didn't he just waste his whole life in neurotic obsession? That seems like losing a lot to me.

Judaism, of course, does not work like that at all.

For a person who behaves like that, I agree.

It's dangerous to be an Athiest because the more devout the more stupid.
It's better to just say other and refer to some obscure religion that one practices privately

I've long heard jokes comparing Christian/Catholic guilt and Jewish guilt, but I never really knew what they were referring to.

At Catholic school, feeling guilty for being the rotten imperfect sinful person you are is something that they attempt to instill at a pretty young age. Or at least, it used to be.

You do know atheism is a religion, right?

Atheists Score Major Win In Federal Court

It gets even better than that. "Some" (ok mostly Democrats) seem to feel Christians should no longer be able to hold political positions within the federal government.

Bernie Sanders Says Christians Need Not Apply for Public Office
A stunning, anti-Christian stance taken by Democrats.
