    The Two Commandments

If one is an evangelical, conservative Christian in the United States, pretty much anything goes. You want to drink, smoke, gamble, engage in gluttony or adultery? Fine. Feel free. Want to lie? Have at it -- you're forgiven.

There are only two sins that really matter to conservative Christians:
    1. You may not agree that abortion should be legal.
    2. You may not agree that gay marriage should be legal.

Aside from that, you may do or say pretty much anything that you like and still remain in fellowship with the flock.

I have said over and over, Homosexuality is a sin, but I have to follow it up with the question to myself are My Sins any better than the sins of the homosexual, funny thing the answer is always NO.

Now, Abortion is a different question you asked if it should be legal, Should Stealing be legal, Should Murder be legal The act of an abortion kills human life.. so that directly ends a life.

I didn't ask anything. I merely posted an observation of hypocritical behavior that is far from being Christ-like.

These are the two I try to follow:

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

Both of which originated in the Torah.

    Devarim (Deuteronomy) 6:5

    Vayikra (Leviticus) 19:18

This presidency and the narrow sycophancy of conservative Christian leaders is dealing a terribly plow to evangelical Christianity. At some point they are going wake up from this dream they are having and discover they are hugging a turd.

Trump is "everything the Bible calls a fool."

Perhaps they are of the "Old Testament does not matter" temperament.

They have become cults, with all the trappings and failings of such.

Several years ago, the founder of IHOP, Mike Bickle, created a list of seven ways to recognize the difference between a religious community and a cult. Written down, the signs seem clear:
    1. Opposing critical thinking
    2. Isolating members and penalizing them for leaving
    3. Emphasizing special doctrines outside scripture
    4. Seeking inappropriate loyalty to their leaders
    5. Dishonoring the family unit
    6. Crossing Biblical boundaries of behavior (versus sexual purity and personal ownership)
    7. Separation from the Church
