You said Santa comes from a religious background and he says Santa comes from a Pagan background .

"Pagan" does not mean non-religious. Pagans were (and are) religious. They just are not Xians.

In any case, the name "Santa" is derived from your St. Nicholas, who was of the Xian religion, and is part of Xmas, which celebrates the birth of your Jesus. That indicates a Xian religious background.

Santa came from a historical person St. Nicholas of Myra who would leave gifts for poor children.

    • Pretending to be Santa gets you invited to parties; pretending to be God gets you committed.
    • Santa rewards you before you die.
    • Santa only has one rule: BE NICE.
    • If you're naughty, Santa might punish you, but you start each year with a clean slate.
    • Santa never commanded a genocide.
Ha, I like this list. Santa is much better than the God of many religions (at least some of their supporter's version of what God is)

I have on dispute to your assessment. One is the celebration of the Birth of the Messiah, the other is the celebration of a Saint and follower of the Messiah.

I know you don't believe that Jesus is the Messiah, I respect your belief. I do, I just hope you grant me the same Respect.

In other words we disagree, but we don't have to hate one another because our beliefs differ.

The two are linked. One does not "celebrate" your saint distinctly from your Xmas. In any event, it does not stand against my assessment.

First definition: follower of a polytheistic religion. That is to say, "pagan" does not mean non-religious.c
