How do you compassionately tell a supernatural believing person that they are borderl

How do you compassionately tell a supernatural believing person that they are borderline stupid?

As you can see by my title, I do not know how.

Scriptures say that to correct is a sign of love. Proverbs 3:12 For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Most do not see it that way when on the receiving end of that love.

I see correction as love just as the scriptures do. How do you see it and how would you tell a supernatural believing person that they are borderline stupid?

    Regards
    DL

You can only do that if you are not stupid yourself.

I don't know a person that believes the Universe is a cosmic accident and not a creation by design is more stupid

How about a person who says he doesn't know how the universe came into being but he's quite sure it isn't a magical supernatural being that created it? I might not know who flew the first powered aircraft but I'm absolutely certain is was not Icarus.

Just because one can not say definitively how the universe came about does not prove ghosts are real.

I have no idea on how one convinces a person that believes in the supernatural that it does not exit.

You already admitted you do not know and yet you are making a statement of absolute certainty from that ignorance. Don't you find that hypocritical or dishonest?

You have no idea because you do not know yourself if the supernatural, indeed, doesn't exist. After all, how can you convince anyone if you are not convinced yourself?

I think online chat forums are a perfect way to discuss religion. Because discussing religion in person is a social no no except in very personal, mutually specified circumstances.

Step One: don’t discuss religion in social situations.

Step Two: if someone else does, change the subject

Step Three: if a group of people have mutually made a choice to discuss religion, be as respectful as if they were showing you pictures of their ugly baby.

I had a friend pull his kids out of school to home school them for religious reasons. I was shocked and asked a mutual friend if I should discuss it with him. The mutual friend said “well, let me ask you, would you like him to take you aside to lecture you about raising your kids in the immorality of public school?”

“Uh.... no. I wouldnt respond well to that”.

    “There ya go”.

It doesn't prove they aren't either.

When you guys can prove to us that God isn't real then you can call us stupid.

    Your "guessing" doesn't cut it.
