How does one resurrect if one didn't die, hmmmm?

So, what was the big sacrifice he made? I see no sacrifice at all here.
The death of Jesus would have had to be a symbolic blood sacrifice at best, since Jesus was God, and therefore immortal.

    Jesus gave up his weekend...

Well, you know, there's not much for Jesus to do up in Heaven, what with everything there being perfect.

He gave up last Sunday just to make sure that Philadelphia won the Super Bowl.

According to dogma, he is truly human and truly divine. That is one of those mysteries no one pretends to understand. There is no way one approaches this other than faith.

The big sacrifice is god accepting mankind's judgment of the divine.

It's like a smart person accepting the insult of being called stupid by a dumb person because, despite his faults, the smart person truly cares for the dumb person. At least that is the only reason I can think of for god to suffer such indignity. After all, one expects that dumb people wouldn't stay dumb forever.

    Mr. knight,

Exactly, atheists live such bitter, empty lives that the only way they can justify their meaningless, soulless existence is to try to dissuade the joy and purpose that people of faith experience.

Thank you for pointing that out again and again, my friends.

Just curious. When do you plan to jump on the faith bandwagon?

An all-powerful entity is incapable of sacrifice. In order to sacrifice, you have to give up something that results in a net subtraction to you. Giving up a kidney is a sacrifice. Donating blood is a good thing - but not a sacrifice. Even spending time working at a soup kitchen is a sacrifice, since you're giving up your time - which is finite.

But subtraction from the infinite isn't possible. Therefore, that which is infinite is incapable of sacrifice.

    Mr. Swimmer,

I have always been a person of faith.

    How about a joke:

An atheist walks into a bar. How do you know?

Because within 5 minutes, he would have told everybody in the bar and tried to convert them.
