Anyone care to take a shot at explaining what the bible has to say on this subject?

    @aboutenough?
People have children to use them as donars for their child who needs them, but you are worried about cats donating kidneys? I mean, I love cats, but.........

I am aware of the babies deliberately conceived to save their sibling.

    It's a medical ethics minefield, @Sassy.

I "worry about cats" because this treatment, referenced in the Op, concerns deliberate harm to one, arguably both beasties.

Even if I had no care for their suffering, a society that openly blesses animal cruelty as an "amusement" to humans is also more dangerous for those humans living in it. Cruelty is not an appetite any animal has, other than humans. We ignore those among us who torment animals at our peril.

    IMO, anyway.

    This is so sad.

I think of my most beloved ... rarely does a day go by that I don't think of him though he has been gone almost three years. And if I had more money, I think I would have just gotten him good drugs and a more peaceful passing.

    Not a transplant.

He was my heart, my soulmate, but if I had money like that, I would hope I would try to help children with it.

It's like how I feel about people who spend tens of thousands on fertility treatments when there are already born children who need homes. I don't like it.

Of course, I don't have that kind of money, so I don't know how having it would affect my thinking.

Meh. I spend all my donation dough on Legal Aid and other, similar charities.

I guess you could infer from this, I don't want to cure disease or feed starving children in Africa. But that inference is plainly ridiculous.

This lady could have spent $19,000 on just about anything and I'd be fine. She didn't have any little kids going without medical care. She neglected nobody.

But.....that get clinic might not should have offered that option to her, because it was cruel to the cats.

    Maybe.

Bad form, The Wahoo, bad form. We love cats on this forum. It's a 'with us or against us' topic. Keep it up, and you might find yourself banished from the Kingdom!

I think I would of donated the 19k to ST. Judes or some similar institution. The feel good factor would be real. Families are not charged for the care , little kids get a chance at life.

Sometimes I wonder if people's attachment to their pets is a little over the top sometimes. I've seen dog worship that was almost scary. The dog was a higher priority then good relations with other people.
    Thanks from Madeline
