Anthropologists estimate that there have been a hundred billion people born on Earth since the beginning of humans. That's plenty of souls. Moreover, spirits don't have to inhabit a human body. The very word "animal" comes from "anima" or "spirit. It is the spirit that animates the body, whether it is a human body or something else.
100 to 6 doesn't seem mathematically lopsided to you?

And in the very early days, when human population growth was exponential, where were the additional souls we needed? What about ghosts? Are they just assigned on some sort random chance?

I don't know. Maybe they have to apply for a mortal body and go through an interview process.

I also don't know where the spirits are that aren't currently in a body. Maybe they're enjoying the freedom of being without physical needs. Anyway, the multiverse is infinite, so there is no problem of space, or of enough spirits.

Perhaps when we leave our current bodies, we'll know where the spirits are.

So then those spirits are actually "trapped" - for not to say punished - by being put in a human body ? Wouldn't that mean that any the worst souls would be chosen for reincarnation ? Oh my ! but would explain a lot !

It just dawned on me. I’m going to start referring to dark matter as God, and vice versa. If scientists don’t like it, then they should hurry up and figure out what the fuck dark matter really is. Because their lack of explanation is no more satisfying than pointing to it and saying there God is, we found him. No, he’s not “everywhere,” he’s just hovering around all the matter. Fuck the supervoids, boooring, the matter is where the fun is.

We found God everyone. He doesn’t do much except bend light and hold galaxies together that should fling themselves apart into oblivion. But he’s there.
...until we replace him with an explanation based on observable evidence a peer-reviewed verification. But, that has always been the way with the God of the Gaps, isn't it. "This is God"...until it isn't. So, instead of just playing with the God of the Gaps, why not just admit, "We don't know," and reserve determination until we do?

Because it seems like more fun to me to play God of the Gaps, because their explanation (or lack thereof) regarding dark matter, and how it continues to defy all coherent explanation, is so unsatisfying that we might as well just call it God to be provocative.

There would just not be enough.

And this is also shown by the growth in human population levels since homo sapiens evolved.

Yes, it would! I hadn't thought of that. Maybe they're just re incarnated until the y get it right, then allowed to live with the other spirits.
