When they originally brought it to court, religious harassment in public schools wasn't the issue they brought up. If Christians students start harassing atheist students, parents will sue and easily win if they cite the legal precedent set in Engel vs. Vitale.

I don't know if they'd get the motto removed everywhere, but they'd definitely get it removed from public schools.

Keep in mind, though, that the Dominionists in particular advocate that bullying is acceptable if based on a "sincerely-held religious belief."

Yes, the Republicans in the Michigan State Legislature were working to exempt Christian children from anti-bullying laws in public schools.

They already accomplished it, sonny. The Bremerton School District fired coach Joe Kennedy for harassing the football team's potential atheist players. Kennedy filed a complaint against the school with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which they threw out. A federal court under Bush-appointed judge John Jones banned Christian Creationism from being taught in public science courses. Djinn and Ian gave you a large record of court cases where the state stopped Christians from implementing a theocracy.

No, he didn't. The Obama administration never penalized Christians for not being gay.

I don't need help from your supernatural puppet master in the sky. The Xian Dominionists are too few in number to have a significant political impact, the Republicans jettisoned most of them, and the courts have been disenfranchising them.

    Incredible!

When we say X hates Y, we assume X acknowledges Y's existence. But an atheist doesn't believe God exists, so an atheist can't hate God. This is very simple English.

You are going to have to repeat Kindergarten English again, young man. I am very disappointed in you. That is the fourth or fifth time. What are you going to tell your parents now?
That's a favorite of mine. I still haven't figured out if:
    1. they really believe atheists "hate God", or
    2. perhaps they are saying this to "defend God", while having a side conversation in their head with God where they explain to God that they won't tolerate this smite of not believing in him, which they can't comprehend to actually be true (because everyone believes) so they figure people say they don't believe just to offend God.
    3. they are unable to comprehend lack of belief in God, even though they have lack of belief in Zeus, Odin, fairies, elves, leprechauns, Vishnu, Shiva and Brahma, even Zoroaster, who apparently taught about individual judgment, Heaven and Hell, the resurrection of the body, the Last Judgment, and everlasting life for the reunited soul and body about 1500 years before Jesus existed.
Thanks from NightSwimmer and Ian Jeffrey

Guess what, I don't want a Theocracy. Religion doesn't mix with politics . There is just religious people that happen to exist in America. You can't stop them from being religious and you are not supposed to stop them from free exercise according to the Constitution. Lately the fear of the Theocracy has promoted organizations such as the FFRF to try to stop free exercise, so they can teach the benefits of Atheism . Atheism needs to be declared officially a religion by the Supreme court , so they can't become the state religion. You should be more worried about Atheist domination then Christian, they are growing rapidly and teaching in public schools

No, Jesus really died as witnessed by the Romans. They shoved a spear into his side to make sure he was dead. After he was buried in a tomb he had a Roman Guard to watch his tomb ( because he said he would come back to life in 3 days). The Jews were very concerned his disciples would steal his body so they could say his rose from the dead. They were like Ian is now, they didn't want the new Covenant as spoken by Jeremiah, they believed the Old Covenant of sacrificing animals in the temple should stay in place. They wouldn't believe that Jesus died for their sins and he was the living sacrifice. The stone that covered the opening was to heavy for one man to move. How did the body disappear and the stone get rolled out of the way with the Roman guard there? Not really sure, but it was empty and the stone was rolled to one side. The Jews and Romans desperately needed to find the body of Jesus out of fear of the continuation of the Christian movement growing. Never could find the body, but Jesus appeared to his disciples and over 500 witnesses.
