    Shavuot

Getting ready to be gone for a few days for another holiday - this time Shavuot (for the two days after Shabbat, so a total of three days). Lots of walking, but also usually lots of eating*. I've managed to do the "stay up all night" thing for the last 6 years ... not sure I'll make it this year, as last year was extremely difficult even with all the coffee.

    * As with most Jewish holidays: "They tried to kill us; we won; let's eat."

    Mr. Bob,

Did you miss that Mr. Jeffrey is Jewish...the point is not to enjoy yourself, and if you do, feel guilty about it....

Well, there's a lot of "they tried to kill us, we won, let's eat" situations to go around.

Actually, we're supposed to enjoy ourselves. But we have "holidays" for feeling guilty, too, that we fast on (if not medically inappropriate). Next one of those is in about 1-1/2 months.
