Some kind of civil agreement with a property clause to protect assets would be of interest for anybody creating a union instead of a marriage, which usually protects wive and kids at the expense of the husband. But chose your own poison.

Assuming it counts as community property to begin with, which is not always the case.

This is typically called a prenuptial agreement - entered into prior to marriage.

What do you consider inherently wrong with choosing marriage over a cluster of legal contracts that attempt to emulate marriage? Just trying to create more jobs for lawyers?

I'm not trying to stop anybody from getting married but it seems to me to not be the best case for many people and has some problems. Talk to some divorced guys who have lost their houses and must pay child support to their former wives who may be living with another guy in their former house and not marrying him so they can get more benefits (and revenge). All legal and not much help for the husband living in a trailer. But make your own decision. Might be interesting to see what a marriage of two lawyers would produce in a marriage contract.

There are plenty of married couples who are both lawyers. Sorry if you had a bad experience with marriage, but your failure doesn't automatically doom anyone else who chooses to marry.

It's potentially somebody else's failure but don't listen to me, what do I know.

    Oh, I sure didn't!

But I shouldn't tell! A gentleman doesn't fuck and tell!
