G-d is incapable of "being rude." That is a human concept of behavior.

You seek autonomy and separation from the fantasy Gods. Good. Seek the only God you can ever know.

I prefer my God as he knows my name.

Here is the basic Gnostic Christian view. If not a seeker, then you I will not be surprised if you ignore it all.

    ------------

Modern Gnostic Christians name our God "I am", and yes, we do mean ourselves.

You are your controller. I am mine. You represent and present whatever mind picture you have of your God or ideal human, and so do I.

The name "I Am" you might see as meaning something like, --- I think I have grown up thanks to having forced my apotheosis through Gnosis and meditation.

In Gnostic Christianity, we follow the Christian tradition that lazy Christians have forgotten that they are to do. That is, become brethren to Jesus.

That is why some say that the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian.

Here is the real way to salvation that Jesus taught.

Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Allan Watts explain those quotes in detail.

Joseph Campbell shows the same esoteric ecumenist idea in this link.

The bible just plainly says to put away the things of children. The supernatural.

How do your wife and children do it? How do you show your love to them?

I imagine, if you follow the thinking Jesus used to recognize those who love him, that you to would show your love with works and deeds and reciprocity to those show you love. Without those conditions, or the desire to use them, you do not have true love.

That is why the archetypal Jesus/God said he came to serve and not be served. You might note that Christians have turned Jesus/God the servant to a Jesus/God master when he wants to serve.

One way to look at it is that God is everything we don't know, or can't know.
The classical God of the Gaps.

Better for us to put him there instead of becoming Christian and adoring a genocidal son murdering God.

How do you know gravity is real? Because you can witness it's effects in various ways. Gravity doesn't need to send me an email or whisper in my ear in order for me to recognize it.

Who says that a higher power isn't speaking to us?

I believe I live in a generation of people who are already bad listeners. They hear, but don't listen. Perhaps some are waiting for an email or a whisper when it's just the effect we should be recognizing.

One can be a Gnostic to any religion. I am a Gnostic Christian, which just means that I mostly argue with Christians, but am willing to argue with anyone. As an esoteric ecumenist I try to keep track of all religions. You never know what a Gnostic will cherry pick from other creeds as we are perpetual seekers of God. God here I define as the best rules and laws to live life by.

Because I thought the Roman Catholic church stamped them out as heretics a long time ago. Or does Gnostic now have a less historical meaning?
The Inquisitors indeed tried to end free thinking and many religions but I do not think that is possible. They can drive free thinkers underground, which is basically what happened, but you cannot control the thinking of a free thinker.

We are presently about 1/4 of the population, and perhaps even the majority if you consider all those who claim religious affiliation without ever going to their church. That number is quite high.

The numbers of those who claim contact are low and all they seem to get is the same old same old curing of a hangnail or something while ignoring the fact that if they had contact with God, instead of their hangnail they should be asking God to save some of the millions of children that starve to death yearly.

One of the above or pick your favorite.

How do you acknowledge those who sacrifice or give you gifts or indulgences?
