Who claimed that you were my therapist? Are you hearing voices?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with you needing a therapist. I just said maybe stop thinking it's me.

The state is a community with a certain political organization and exercising sovereign power within a particular geographic boundary. That is how the word is commonly understood in political theory and that is how I am using the word here.

So yes, your state elected donald trump and members of congress.

    Not necessarily.

You are over-simplifying the dynamics of political parties in a general democracy to suit whatever it is you are arguing for here. The truth is, democratic governments are built on the idea of forming a consensus through as wide a population as possible within the community.

So, no, elected officials do not necessarily embody a political party's highest ideal. At most, elected officials are the best option around which a political party can forge a reasonable and working consensus.

Yes, as you said, with 17 choices available to them, the GOP selected Donald Trump as their "best option".

Disingenuously dismissing support for Trump as only existing because the other choice was Hillary Clinton is cowardly. It's running away from the fact that he was there purposeful candidate coming out of the primary.

I am not really privy to the minutiae of american party politics but I believe the purpose of the primary is to determine the winnability of presidential candidate. For that reason alone, it appears that the republicans made the correct decision.
