    Creation of the universe

Majik mentioned this sorta in another thread and decided to discuss this.

I will give my brief opinion. I believe that the Big Bang is a posibility. But where many Christians will deny the BB I believe that Science and God can coexist, The way i see it is couldn't God have spoken everything into creation then there was a Big Bang and it happened.....? Thoughts

I'm content with the fact that in the grand scheme of things, we're a speck of poo on the ass of a gnat and are too primitive to know what the universe even is.
I do enjoy watching other people bump heads though, knowing they'll never find an answer.

You suck scottie!! You know that!! You suck!!!

The point I was trying to make in the other thread was that if the thought of god being eternal is so easily accepted.. Why can't the universe be eternal?? While I realize that most scientists in the field support the Big Bang theory.. I myself have my reservations about it.. The issue I have with the big bang is that it implies the universe has a center and we know where that center is.. Anytime you measure an expanse or hear talk of the universe expanding, it has to expand from a certian point.. The kicker to all this is, unless we are in that center, there would be no way to tell if the universe is actually expanding.. Anywhere off center, and some bodies will appear to be moving toward us, away from us, and simply one side or the other..

Many will say that is how big our universe is.. But what some miss is the word observable.. That is the size of the universe we can see with our current sensor technology.. The universe can be a billions times larger, we simply can't see it.. Light becomes to faint for us to detect.. But into those terms and sizes, the big bang simply, at least in my opinion becomes more or less impossible.. We are basing our judgements on the universe in what could argueable be 1/billionth of the universe.. It would be like making judgements on the ocean will only looking at a single tide pool.. There is more about the universe that we don't know than what we do know.. Let's face it, science is still more or less trying to understand gravity in the universe.. Blackholes and how they work.. There is so much we don't know..

As for creation?? Myself, I believe the universe is eternal.. It has always been there and always will be there.. There is nothing to say that it was created by anything or that it needs to be created.. Man for his own piece of mind requires a beginning and and end.. It isn't chance that the bible was written in those terms.. That is how our minds work.. But that doesn't always make it so...

I do believe that the universe is enormous. More than we know. I do believe something created everything we know. not sure how or why. and not sure how long and if our science will ever be ever to know. I'm eager to see what other people say. And I rock and you know it.

This is a very interesting subject but one I'm probably unable to articulate correctly.

I believe in a God and science and they do co-exist, certainly academically, but to what degree I do not know. I think when you really start to zoom into the nature of things, down to the particle and down to the atom, you start to see the essence of our existence and I believe the answer to the creation of the universe lies there.

Our entire observable universe runs off the mechanics of conflict of energy and to me that is the primary source, fuel, engine of everything. If that is true now, then it must be true at the universe's creation. To what detail of conflict of energy, I am clearly uncertain and probably will never know in my lifetime.

A conflict of energy is seen in every struggle of nature from a star's birth and death, human society, down to the atom. That must hold some significance, if even just the thread.

My sister forced me to listen to David Icke for like, three hours last week. He has this whole theory about how we are all born of lizard people from outer space.

I don't really give a shit where stuff came from as much as I'd like to know where it's going.

I guess my question to you is.. Does the universe have to be created?? That is something that has always confused me... Why does the universe have to be created??

The only thing that comes to mind is the realization of entropy. If time did not exist then there would be no such thing. We as a species operate our entire lives based on time and thus there must be a start & end. I can't show proof that entropy exists throughout the universe however.
