What if Tim Tebow were a Muslim?

Imagine for a second, the Denver Broncos quarterback is a devout follower of Islam, sincere and principled in his beliefs and thus bowed toward Mecca to celebrate touchdowns. Now imagine if Detroit Lions players Stephen Tulloch and Tony Scheffler mockingly bowed toward Mecca, too, after tackling him for a loss or scoring a touchdown, just like what happened Sunday. I know what would happen. All hell would break loose.
Stinging indictments issued by sports columnists. At least a few outraged religious leaders chiming in on his behalf. Depending on what else had happened that day, they might have a chance at becoming Keith Olbermann's Worst Person In The World.
And there would be apologies. Oh, Lord, would there be apologies — by players, by coaches, possibly by ownership with a tiny chance of a statement from NFL commish Roger Goodell.
You cannot mock Muslim faith, not in this country, not anywhere really.

As a Christian Tim Tebow is mocked for his belief in God. Why is it ok to mock a person for being a Christian but when it becomes a Muslim its Taboo?

If a Muslim made as big a deal about his religion as Tebow he would be crucified.
No one is criticizing Tebow for taking a knee. Players have been doing that forever. It's his thanking God in every interview for winning. God really doesn't follow the Broncos. He only watches Packer games.

What, no criticism? The second anti-Tebow group seems to focus entirely on Tebow's so called "religous antics." Recently, Kurt Warner, who did just about everything Tebow did but with much less fanfare, has come out saying Tebow ought to tone it down a bit.

In an interview with the Arizona Republic, Warner, a devout Christian himself, said that Tebow ought to let his actions do the speaking for him rather than come out and blurt something like "I'd like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Funny how Warner would bring this up when he used to do the same thing. The question begs to be asked, is Warner giving him advice based on a backlash he personally suffered for his expression of his faith, or is Warner somehow trying to cash in on the Tebow train?
Tebow hаѕ a nеw critic thіѕ week іn thе form οf a former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback: Boomer Esiason.

Anу fan οf thе Denver Broncos franchise, οr thаt οf Tebow himself, hаѕ already heard whаt Esiason hаd tο ѕау аbουt thе Denver Broncos’ second-year, third-string quarterback. Thіѕ follows thе constant criticism frοm ESPN analyst Merril Hoge, whο саn’t seem tο stay away frοm thаt keyboard whеn іt comes tο Tebow.

Apparently, according tο Tebow’s fanbase, thе criticism comes frοm еνеrу angle аnd іѕ “never warranted.”

Here’s thе real scoop. Tebow keeps getting criticized nοt bесаυѕе hе′s thаt bаd οf a quarterback, bυt bесаυѕе hіѕ fans іn thе Denver Broncos fanbase аnd around thе world wіll nοt ѕtοр calling hіѕ name аnd sprinting tο hіѕ defense.

Seems his fan base is behind him so much that when he get criticised they defend him. I really think he is just being himself the people that don't see a Christian praying openly and giving God the glory drives some people crazy. Muslims pray a lot all day long and in some cases ask a work place or school to provide prayer time and a room. If Tim Tebow was a Muslim he would have to stop if it was his time to pray. They pray five times a day at specific times

If Tebow was a Muslim, then ignorant irrelevances like the above would be the least of the attacks on him.

Tebow is just doing what Christians do that are strong beleivers and being criticised for it. If he was a Muslim doing what Muslims do and playing football you wouldn't hear a peep out of anybody. If anything you would hear praises for what he is doing

Drew Brees is a good Christian who doesn't put on a show the way Tebow does. Is that why he is more successful than Tebow?

Has Tebow not read Matthew 6.

And if a Muslim football player demonstrated his faith on the field as Tebow does you would have the fundies demanding that the sponsors pull their sponsorship from the games when his team is playing like what the wacky fundies did when they called on Lowes to stop sponsoring the TLC program about Muslims.

You don't understand Matthew 6, Vortex, and it does not appear to me that Tebow is putting on a show. How do you know? Hint: you don't. Let God judge.

I do understand Matthew. It is you who does not.

Tebow is putting on a show and that is what the press picked up on and others have copied. It is not about the faith, it is about the act.
