An honorable profession, capitalism at its best.
I really do agree with the logic classes, if only to teach rational skills. The education The USA is offering up north of Virginia could use a lot of improvement. I have no Idea what they teach in the bible belt but the shite I see from their politicians means something is seriously wrong down there. My father was British so I have dual citizenship,I am not looking forward to visiting my family over there and being asked what the hell is going on in our politics, it is childish if you want my opinion.
I really only became enraged when Palin began speaking and a people cheered her on, perhaps I was oblivious before.
That election was about homosexuals and now the lines are divided on belief in a deity.
What the hell is going on , we are in a long standing recession and all they can speak about is religion ?
I think the nation as a whole is dumbing down and these total, I mean total idiots are ranting about religion.
RICK SANTORIUM WAS A CONTENDER - total idiot, congratulations on your rape, now you have a beautiful baby - Insanity, worse people cheered him ???????????????????

I understand what you are saying. History is presented by the people who write it. But how else could anyone write history? It is inevitable. And a mere collection of facts strung together chronologically is meaningless.
What is needed for students of history is to develop critical thought in analyzing events from the past.
I have never met a christian who would propose such an ignorant thing. Maybe you have met an american who proposed such a thing. You ought to rephrase your statement:
I find it disturbing that americans want a 10,000 yr old earth.....
I agree, But the history books are being rewritten by new authors as more information becomes available.
I agree, accepting new information is important - much like understanding rain or tornadoes, we have better tools to decipher how intricate systems function.
You are teasing me here.
No, I think it is very important to use proper wordage, speaking in vague terms leads to huge communication difficulties.
No. That is a fact. I have never met a christian who thinks the world is only 10,000 years old. I met some mountain folk (during the conduct of a feasibility study) who told me something to this effect but he was not a christian, to the best of my knowledge.
But your statement is entirely misleading. I have never met a christian who thinks the world is only 10,000 years old. Nor is such a preposterous idea ever, to my knowledge, been proposed in any science curriculum in any school in my country.
But you say they do in the us.
Perhaps, this delusion afflicts americans, not christians.

Young Earth creationism (YEC) is the religious belief[1] that the Universe, Earth, and all life on Earth were created by direct acts of the Abrahamic God during a relatively short period, sometime between 5,700 and 10,000 years ago.[2] Its primary adherents are Christians and Jews[3] who believe that God created the Earth in six 24-hour days, taking a literal interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative as a basis for their beliefs.[4][5]
