Lets ignore science and steer this to history and math and English.

    I don't understand.

I think an entire class on 'logic' should be mandatory. Perhaps in Middle School. I don't think people should graduate high-school without a demonstrated ability to reason.

This used to be a standard subject and now is unheard of, at least in Canada. It's simply not taught unless you take university level philosophy. And who the hell would do that if they had any logic?

Elementary should teach basic reading, writing and math skills, while touching lightly on history, geography and science. Very basic history, geography and science. Most emphasis should be on the so-called 3 Rs.

Unless the religious right who want to cut science from education are living like the Amish, they ought to take a hard look at their own personal hypocracy.

Yes; I think so, Sparta. All the esteem-building ever accomplished was to create a generation of dipshits who are utterly oblivious of their ineptitude, thus spawning retarded shit like Tea Party, Paul for president and so on.

We need dumbfucks to know they're dumbfucks. Then they're more manageable.

Okay , perhaps should have included middle school also, But I do want to touch on history, factual history.
The books I was taught from said Columbus discovered the Americas, Really it should read native people lived in the Americas, you can touch on Aztecs Mayans Indians , Africans, then on so and so date, the Europeans, landed on the shore and spread disease.
You see where I am going with this , You can add in the known religious practices if known to these natives.

I find it disturbing that Christians want a 10, 000 yr old earth , and even if they do not, they totally ignore previous cultures and religions before the old testament was even thought of and refuse to acknowledge.

another issue we should tackle is the history of religion, with a timeline going back to KNOWN cultures earliest to present and not forgetting Jewish culture, old testament, then anything between it and the new testament,

Abraham didn't exist? Moses a myth? Archeological and historical evidence of Biblical accuracy

The reality is we do only touch on history. In my adult years I've taken an interest in history, only because of that I've come to realize what we aren't taught in school is so great that it literally changes the relevance of the things we are taught. What's taught about history is retarded by the lack of historical context, it's almost silly.

I have taken an interest In BCE history and unknown cultures uncovered by archaeological finds and with renewed interest in really finding more about them than the mere mention by 1800,s people whom really were only interested in fame and looting
