Looks like Progressivism has some success slowing Christianity in America, but in the rest of the world, especially China its booming. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.8b9fae704f42

According to a new report from the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life, 620,000 Christian immigrants received green cards in 2012, joining the nearly 250 million Christians in the U.S. overall.
The data presented in Pew's latest, wide-ranging analysis are based primarily off of estimates, since the government doesn't track specific religious affiliation for new permanent residents. Even so, the report contains interesting findings, including the fact that the majority of U.S. immigrants—both authorized and unauthorized—are Christian.
Pew estimates that the share of new, Christian legal permanent residents (LPR) decreased seven percent over the past 20 years, down to 61 percent in 2012. Meanwhile, the shares of LPR immigrants who belong to minority faiths including Islam and Hinduism increased, and 1 in 4 green card recipients now is a religious minority. This corresponds with a rising share of immigrants from regions other than Latin America, including southeast Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.
By contrast, unauthorized immigrants mainly come from Latin America and the Caribbean, where countries have established Christian (usually Catholic) majorities. As a result, an overwhelming majority (83 percent, or 9.2 million people) of unauthorized immigrants are Christian. According to Pew, that's more than the Christian percentage of the U.S. population as a whole, which clocked in at 80 percent in 2010.

Interesting the illegal immigrants coming to the USA are 83 per cent Christian. Maybe the GOP should change their thinking on illegal immigration and get behind these Christians. So, an easier path to citizenship = more Christians in the USA. More Christians = GOP growth
    Yeah.

People have been screaming that for decades. Immigrants from less developed countries are more socially conservative than their hosts, and courting them is how Conservative party leaders like Stephen Harper here and Merkel in Germany won multiple elections despite being further right than most of their voters.

The only thing separating your Republicans from Latino voters is the dog whistle racism of Republicsns.

Knock that shit off and you get socially conservative Catholics. But it requires a leader like Harper with his Conservatives or Merkel with her Christian Denocrats, to purge the deplorables from shouting the loudest when speaking for the party.

More fodder for the Persecution thread. Gaining more while still losing ground to the non-religious.

    I agreed with you.

Harper here won 3 terms for the Conservatives, and he did it by muzzling the bigots in his party. He stuck to a script that didnt insult immigrants and minorities and voila - won the votes of immigrants and minorities. Didn't have to court them. Just stopped insulting them.

Till the end, when he went full retard on Muslims and lost everything.

But 3 times he won as a Conseevative with a fair amount of Indo, middle Easter, Chinese and Ukrainian support. Because they are socially right when you don't insult them.
