Just because Republicans would have done nothing, that doesn't justify Democrats creating bad law.

Democrats creating bad law and being unresponsive to the anxieties of voters is why Democrats lost the House in 2010, lost millions of voters in 2012 though they still pulled off a White House win, and lost the Senate in 2014.

I don't agree with you on the mid-term elections, all mid-term elections seem to turn out this way, always a big shift, that isn't out of the ordinary, now whether Obamacare was the reason in 2010, maybe, maybe not, it was more like the intrusion of the TEA PARTY who highjacked the GOP. As for 2012 and less voters don't think it had to do with Obamacare, and Obama still won.

There were republiCons on the committee that 'developed' it...it's why we don't have a 'public option' (universal health care)...
I'm not aware of any specific plan the GOP has for health care. If Obamacare was to be repealed, we could not simply "go back" to the way things were. There would have be some unwinding, which will cost HUGE sums of money. No one in the GOP ever discusses who they believe should pay that freight, but I imagine they all agree the taxpayer should. Because why not? By all means, I want to pay for the cost of getting the private insurance companies and Big Pharma to screw me AGAIN.

    *Rolls eyes*

I support Bernie Sanders because I agree with him that we must have universal care. It's one minute to midnight on the population bomb the Boomers represent, and we cannot wait another decade to pass it.

If the media had done their job and let people know Obama was lying about "if you like it, you can keep it," I don't think he would have won.

    But that's another story.

Democrats had a chance to show they were trustworthy. They failed to do so. And now the fragile law is even more fragile because Democrats failed to be responsive to voter anxieties and gave up more than 80 Congressional seats to Republicans -- raising Republican numbers to levels not seen since the 1930's.

I understand that you disagree with me.

However, I maintain that Republicans are not to blame for Democrats failing to keep faith with voters -- failing to show voters that Democrats are significantly better than Republicans currently are.

The media and the politicians have trained the public to evaluate Obamacare by looking only at its impact on THEIR family. Some families have had good experiences, others not so much, so the public is lead to believe, well, things are better.

What the reform needs to focus on is the health of the entire population. I don't just have an especially bleeding heart as to health care. Sick and injured people in my community who cannot get care, especially for mental health, are a severe hardship on me. Sick and untreated people in another state impact me; they can't work and pay taxes, and some can't look after their children.

Obamacare was pitched to us the way an insurance salesman would sell a policy -- not the way a POTUS should have addressed the needs of the entire American people.

It would have been nice if the repukes could have worked with instead of against the democrats on a healthcare resolution. But they seem to not know a healthy population is a happy society and productive. Until they can learn what is in the best interests of the whole we can expect legislation that benefits only the few.

The Republicans offered amendments to improve Obamacare.. Democrats supported these amendments and even offered Amendments themselves, but the Pelosi and Reid would not let be amended by Democrat or Repulbicans.

Why, because if Obamcare had been amended, since the senate passed the bill first. would have forced conference between the house and senate.
