    That's what I thought.
I thought he said he had an African American. He keeps saying and pointing out "my African American" at his rallies so I though maybe he thought he owned one.

I think there's a better chance of Bernie being a racist.

I would also check I’m learning that on to the Clintons the pay increase for African-Americans went up 33%. Are you aware of her children’s defense fund? You may not like her but you’re up session is bordering on irrationality

I hate Reagan, but mental hospitals were operated by the states, not the federal government. The mass closures occured under Carter, not Reagan.

And "your guy does evil shit too!" is not a justification for voting in known evildoers.

Your flailing about on this thread should strongly suggest to YOU that YOU need to rethink your lifelong loyalty to the corporate Democratic party.

I don't want YOU to substitute my judgment for your own. I want YOU to use YOUR brains to find better candidates who ACTUALLY promote YOUR values.

    Yanno, PROGRESSIVES.

    No.

Racism doesn't require intent. It often happens on an unconscious level.

    Just saying.

But that's a detour from the subject of the thread. About Hillary, there is no reason to think that she is racist.

But too many here seem confused as to whether Hillary is a racist.

She is, always has been, and will continue to be.

But they are different. Hillary hides hers. She says nice things about Muhammed Ali. She has her photo taken with Al Sharpton.

Personally, I prefer my hate full on and without any bullshit.

Most POC I know feel the same. If you hate me, say so to my face.

    Your thoughts?
Was this racist? Would it only have been racist if a white man had said it?

In his ongoing campaign to whip Black America back into shape, Cosby has never shied away from making criticisms about Black parenting. In one speech, Cosby addressed Black parents by saying, “I’m talking about these people who cry when their son is standing there in an orange suit. Where were you when he was two? Where were you when he was 12? Where were you when he was 18, and how come you don’t know he had a pistol?” This kind of attitude places full blame onto Black parents and completely ignores the racist system which locks up young black men at a completely disproportionate rate. It also completely ignores the fact that most parents cannot be present for every moment of their child’s life because they are working to actually provide for that child.

In his 2004 speech given at an NAACP event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Brown vs. Board of Education, Cosby bemoaned the state of the Black community post-civil rights era, arguing that people need to change the way they act, speak, and dress in order to better themselves.

Comments like these exemplify respectability politics, which assert that Black people must speak, act, and dress a certain way in order to be successful. However, this kind of attitude only works to uphold whiteness as a standard by which all Black people should live. This belief completely erases the effects of systematic racism and places blame for this oppression on the people being oppressed.

The California Mental Health facility closures began under then Governor Ronald Reagan. They were supposed to begin after each county had created facilities to treat the mentally ill, but many patients were released before their counties could adequately provide treatment.

The legislation later became the template for the rest of the US. So yes one could say that Reagan closed the state mental facilities over the whole US.

True, dat. Plus, institutions and government agencies are incapable of "intent" just as they are "motive". But nevertheless, most American government agencies, policies, etc. at EVERY level are racist, meaning, they irrationally damage people of color as they were designed to do.

Some white supremacists are good people .
    Mexicans here are rapists
June 2017, Trump said 15,000 recent immigrants from Haiti “all have AIDS” and that 40,000 Nigerians, once seeing the United States, would never “go back to their huts” in Africa.
Oh and he has proof that obama was kenyan

The primary cause of the epidemic of violent crime in the U.S. was the deliberate importation of crack by the CIA, so they could use the profits from those sales to fund "anti-communist fighters" in Latin America.

It's possible Cosby did not know this when he spoke, and virtually every famous black entertainer over 40 in America has said similar things.

Point is, Hillary sure as fuck knew what the CIA had done by 1990, when she and Bill moved into the white house.

    1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010....we are coming up on 2020. Where's the DOJ investigation? Where's the Congressional hearing? Where's the fucking OUTRAGE?

Most of the public still doesn't know what happened because many 0.01%-ers got richer, and continue to, off the human misery the CIA unleashed on Americans. They want it kept quiet, and lo and behold, their pet politcian, Hillary, is mute on the subject.

Hillary has never even acknowledged what happened, as if the crack epidemic was a strange phenomena that just can't be explained. She's a power-seeking liar.

No amount of human suffering EVER factors into her calculus about how our government should be run.
