Wow. And the assistant tried to "negotiate" a freebie on his/her own, with no prodding from Maples? And followed through with an ominous message about messing with the president elect (even though they're no longer married), with a little sob story about what kind of lifestyle Ms. Maples is used to, as if a stylist living under presumably much more modest means is supposed to subsidize a richer woman's lifestyle? Who's the hateful one here? Certainly not the liberals who find this entitlement attitude of Maples thoroughly disgusting.

Would you defend Michelle Obama (and her assistants) if they tried to wrangle a freebie hair job out of a stylist? Somehow I doubt it. Your comments are disgusting.

Ta da - in the end she got what she wanted - free publicity, so much that pride and discretion.
You feel no outrage over Maples trying to get a freebie hair job when she damn well can afford it? Does discretion include keeping quiet after having been bullied by a rich bitch who can afford your services but wants a freebie anyways? And she was bullied when her refusal to provide the free service was met by an ominous reply about messing with the president.

Nope, it wasn't about who can afford what.

It was about getting positive feedback from Marla Maples and Kelly gaining clients who could pay her high prices.

Instead Kelly decided to go low and slam Maples, get some free publicity.

When Kelly could have just said no, she wasn't interested in the deal.
    Thanks from Bronwyn

You left out a few details. Kelly said no to the "offer" of "exposure," and that should have been the end of it. But no. The Maples people followed through with an attempt to bully her into providing her services gratis with, "You are messing with the president of the United States,” along with a sob story about Maples being worried about her financial situation with Tiffany out of college, ending child-support payments from the president-elect. “She is used to a certain lifestyle and you don’t understand that.”

Why should Kelly remain silent about a bullying attempt?

Kelly showed she was willing to negotiate her price, so they threw in a second deal, that's how negotiations work.

Kelly had the option to stand her ground and say she wasn't going to negotiate her standard price/practice, but she did not and this is what we are getting, some broken deal being talked about.

I would love to be a fly on the wall when the 'longtime client' and Kelly come together for their next appointment, or will they make any more appointments after this fly in the ointment?

When they tried to "negotiate" a freebie and Kelly declined, that should have been the end of it. It would have, if they hadn't followed through with an attempt to bully her into a freebie with "You are messing with the president of the United States." That's bullying, not "negotiating."
