You can object all you want, the laws allow for it to be, don't like it get the laws changed somehow. Any claims to questions asked are hearsay. Muhammad Ali never legally changed his name from Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr., maybe they were trying to verify the name? Could be hundreds of reasons, maybe the mother wanted to get 5 minutes of fame by claiming the Muslim travel ban caused it. Yet the ban was placed on TRO 2/4, Ali was detained 2/7.

They asked him about his religion. Twice.

They had no problem identifying Muhammed Ali. His widow was traveling with her son, and when she provided them with a photograph of her with the great fighter, they let her go. They kept her son two hours, asking him about his religion.

If that isn't an actual problem, it's horrible PR for the government's border security services.

He claims it was about his religion, he claims they questioned him about his religion, they claim it on the Travel Ban, which on 2/7 the ban was already halted via TRO. Again, we have nothing from him but hearsay, he's making a claim that he can't back up.

“To the Ali family, it’s crystal clear that this is directly linked to [President] Trump’s efforts to ban Muslims from the United States,” Mancini told the Courier-Journal in Louisville, where the senior Ali was born and was buried last June, on Friday about the alleged incident, which occurred Feb. 7.

That's true. All we really know is that he was detained what seems like an inordinant amount of time. But one wonders what is his motivation for saying something false. If this is a pattern of behavior, we'll see more stories like this.

Listening to their lawyer, it sounds as though they were politically motivated in their claims.

Well another poster earlier mentioned being detained for a couple of hours many years ago, for no apparent reason. So it apparently is not a new thing.

He was detained deplaning from a domestic flight.

    That is not acceptable.

How long are you questioned after deplaning from a domestic flight?

It has never happened to me.
