How his supporters expected something else, perhaps speaks to the level of intelligence across this nation and ironically in places that supported Trump who would feel the worst effects of his policies over time, if a neo republican Congress approves of them.
I never expected anything but one POS idea after another from Trump, band I expected him to self-destruct in 6 mos or so, and for the Congress to refuse to pass anything for him in his tiny little term in office.

Mind you, I voted for Bernie, so it isn't as if I WANTED Trump -- but we'd be operated remotely from China by now, if Hillary had won I considered that the bigger of two evils.

So far, I feel like all my Trump predictions are spot on. Maybe I should start running a Miss Cleo operation for people with fears about their government, going forward? I do seem to have mad skillz.

    LOLOL.

Kinda hard to call them "working class" since the mines have all closed.

When has it been different? The poorest areas in the US have been voting for the GOP for several decades now. This isn't new.

All I can say is.......Bernie, when he lost the primary (and the DNC wikileaks were already out) recommended his supporters vote for Clinton...... While some Bernie supporters supported him on that and helped her gain almost 3 million MORE votes than our current POTUS.... many Bernie "supporters" did NOT support Bernie in his recommendation and that is why we have the current POTUS and at what will be an ENORMOUS cost to this nation, a waste of time and energy to go back and reverse and recover from the damage that has and will result from NOT supporting Bernie when it was most crucial to.

Do you know anything about the REA co-ops, now called EMC's? Those subsidies were because the electric companies wouldn't go to the rural areas. It wasn't worth it to them. Roosevelt allowed them to form co-ops that provided electricity to people and the electric companies had to sell the co-op the power at a rate. Time have changed since then. The electric companies found that the growth in the cities would eventually end while those rural areas that they were not interested in continued to grow. Truthfully, there isn't a real reason to keep subsidizing the EMC's. These are power companies that operate to not make a profit but get government funding. Why not let them raise the kw prices in line with the power companies? If they don't want to do it they can always allow one of the power companies to buy them out.

Do they? I didn't even know they voted at all. Is this also true up in the Northeast?

People in the rural areas look at voting a civic duty. They also still attend parades on holidays.

Trump is, essentially, a placeholder. Nothing much will actually happen, although the ideas will be atrocious and thus, his term in office will be noisy.

(Caveat: as long as he keeps his mitts of the US military, that is.)

To my eye, Hillary was and is the Great Satan. Trump was a nuisance by comparison, and I still feel that way.

I have it on the best authority that feeding children doesn't help them do better in school.
