As for what we should bet? How about a donation of $10 to a charity of the winner's choosing?
Throw in that the PH loser of the bet has to put up a new thread and dedicate a song to the PH winner of the bet. The song should be about being wrong and the other person being right. At least it will allow the rest of us here to either enjoy the win with the winner or cry with the loser.

Trump and Pence hit new lows in Fox poll | TheHill

Adding to the pressure is the now-certain closure of the US government when the fiscal year opens on July 1st without a budget law in place. No SS checks to elders, no federal court activity at any level -- no paychecks for active duty US military, who are nonetheless almost the only US employees compelled to remain on the job. No US postal service. No federal student loan monies for students entering the Summer or Fall semesters of 2017. No federal funds transferred to states to fund the federal governments share of Medicaid, etc.

What a complete clusterfuck this will be, and there is ZERO hope that Trump's successor, whether it is Pence or Orrin Hatch, will be able to propose and pass a 2017/2018 budget before Halloween.

Depends on how long the investigations take. Congress and the FBI aren't' known for moving rapidly. They need to cross all the 't's and dot all the 'i's.

You're assuming people think like you and I. I live in Indiana. I keep running into people that keep saying the media is picking on trump. They also think his worst sin is speaking his mind.

FOX news is doing it's best to shield trump voters from the truth.

Its gone beyond FOX. They subscribe to various newsletters and blogs. Also some local newspapers are right leaning so they are really keeping that fake news thing going. Now I see all these bumper stickers on cars around here. Had to go in the local high school and tons of the cars already had them on!

No, what drives this process -- even if we were discussing Nixon -- is politics. The approval rating dictates the timing of the House Judiciary Committee vote to recommend the House consider impeachment, which is the point at which Nixon resigned (and Andrew Jackson as well, if memory serves.)

    Nixon's Presidential Approval Ratings

On the day Nixon resigned, his approval rating was 24%. But the trend was also important; that number fell almost 40 percentage points in 1974 (he resigned in August, 1974.)

IMO, Trump cannot reverse the trend downward, and if he breaks below 40% -- the precipice he is trembling on today, according to FOX -- he is guaranteed to lose the support of GOP Congresspeople. They will perceive that attacking Trump is beneficial, maybe even necessary, to their own political survival.

Taken together with his absolute inability to tolerate criticism, this leaves me comfortable predicting Trump will not be the POTUS on Labor Day.

Sadly, some of the aftershocks from Trump's resignation will be violent crimes. Mass murders, bombings, assassinations of random federal officials, etc. by far-right nutters angry at the left wing conspiracy they believe has stolen their hero are all likely, IMO.

    Sounds dramatic.

In past experiences the event has been way over sensationalized. Is there something different about this one....??
