Trump has been pretty consistent in his support for universal health care, across time.

And whether it passes or not, there is no excuse for any real liberal to be OPPOSING universal health care, or for trying to convince Americans it is no longer important.

NOBODY wants to "save Obamacare" unless they have the interests of the private health insurance industry at heart, because it is a savage attack on the health care access of ordinary Americans.

Watch what they do, not what they say.
That's fucking ridiculous. the best time? Neither the House or the Senate will even allow a vote on Bernies plan so how the fuck could it ever make it to the desk of trump? To think now is the time when we have a repub house, senate and president is stupid.

You are not the realist here, Min. You are the victim of propaganda.

I can't disagree with her on this.

She is correct on all her points although I do disagree that we need universal health care but that's an ideological difference.

I also don't think it will ever pass because of the cost and the socialist stigma associated with it.

However she is correct that it is being blocked by prominent democrats who have sold out to corporate America.

I also believe she is correct that now is not the wrong time, there would be plenty of support for it by the people.

I can't honestly say its the wrong time in fact I would say the opposite, now would be the perfect time because it highlights the failings of Obamacare.
    Thanks from Madeline

Quit your fucking dreaming. Neither branch in congress would so much as allow a vote on it. The only thing a rational person wanting UHC would do at this time is to fight the repeal of the ACA.

How the fuck do you pass it now when neither Ryan nor McConnell would so much as allow a vote on it?

You are far more liberal than Schumer, Pelosi or Clinton, Spooky.

And judging from the nonsense that gets posted on PH, more liberal than too many of our fellow PHers.

I am DELIGHTED that actual conservatives raise objections to universal health care as to funding. That is the single biggest task that must be accomplished for this to work; we cannot have it turn into another Great Society program, like welfare.

But I think the funding is there, if we are smart about it.

You're forgetting the wild card here.

    Trump.

If there were enough public support for this I have a feeling Trump would sign on.

I don't think he actually cares one way or the other, it would fulfill his campaign promise and what he would get for it would probably make it worth it to him.

Any other president and I would say definitely no but I can see legitimate scenarios of this happening.
    Thanks from Madeline

No she's not Madeline, she's a very smart person, strategically this is suicide, it's like pissing in a windstorm; so now we are to try and hold the line, not deport DACA, not bankrupct ourselves on a wall that ain't gonna do shit, defray the verbal bowel explosions regarding foreign policy that this LUNATIC in the white house spews on a daily basis, continue an investigation into a very serious crime, interference in the very foundation of our democracy in the form of the vote, AND pass Bernie's bill?

It's a nice fantasy, but it won't work, I'd rather have those 800,000 kinds stay right here then to go jump on the third rail of the health insurance tracks and give the GOP a win in the form of Trumpcare.

Did you read the CBO's summary on it? it's fucking devastating to the middle class AND The POOR!

Jesus! learn how to construct a battle before you go all "purist"!
