And judging from the nonsense that gets posted on PH, more liberal than too many of our fellow Phers.

I am DELIGHTED that actual conservatives raise objections to universal health care as to funding. That is the single biggest task that must be accomplished for this to work; we cannot have it turn into another Great Society program, like welfare.

But I think the funding is there, if we are smart about it.
The time to push for something like UHC will be when the democrats control washington. It's fucking impossible at this point in time. How is your pipe dream going to pass if congress refuses to so much as vote on it?

Really. How about this, how about you tell me how exactly you think a Universal Healthcare can be passed in this Congress. It can't. Period. Trump can't sign a bill they will never pass. Something about the branches of government. If you focus on what PACE stated you would realize that the only plan we have can disappear overnight replaced by a list of takeaways that will harm real people. Wake up.

    Trump.

If there were enough public support for this I have a feeling Trump would sign on.

I don't think he actually cares one way or the other, it would fulfill his campaign promise and what he would get for it would probably make it worth it to him.

Any other president and I would say definitely no but I can see legitimate scenarios of this happening.
I don't give a flyin fuck if he signed on, congress will refuse to vote on it. How is such a bill going to make it to his desk if it never gets through congress? Much like his wall, congress is not stupid enough to fund it.

No she isn't, she is holding a reasonable debate about an issue.

At least she is trying to until the trolls show up.

You just don't like being called out for your hypocrisy.

there is no debate here, there is only one view, and attacks, and if you can't recognize that, there is a comprehension issue.

Debating the merits of UHC is fine, arguing this is the time to pass it is ludicrously fucking stupid.

Probably not but you never know.

Stranger things have happened, it all depends on how much support they can drum up for it from the people.

I can't honestly say it would never happen at this point.

I could see this being a key issue in 2018 and with enough support it may sway congress to take action on it.

I think it would all come down to the details like how its paid for. Whip up a plan, repeal Obamacare and put this in its place.

    I think its definitely possible.

it won't happen and again, like abortion and gay marriage, this will be a wedge issue in 2018; now, maybe you believe Washington should be burned to ground, because purists, who are one inch away from each other on the political globe, want that.

I say, they should set themselves on fire first; because they are, single handedly, causing this rupture in the political spectrum to the point, it is rupturing society.

And that's what these NIHILISTS want, total fucking destruction!

I know Bernie Sanders does this from his heart, but he's fucking stupid! the strategy sucks! it won't pass!
    Thanks from Minotaur

Don't forget that republicans are more than willing to simply pass another version of Obamacare.

Just their version of it which shows they are not really against UHC.

Like I said, its all about the details.
