The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump

    Wikipedia
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump is a 2017 book by Bandy Lee. In the book, 27 psychologists, psychiatrists, and mental health professionals assess US President Donald Trump's mental health based on his behavior, and conclude that he is a "complex, if dangerously mad, man." They argue that the president's mental health is affecting the mental health of the people of the United States, and that Trump's presidency represents an emergency not only allowing, but perhaps requiring psychiatrists to deviate from the Goldwater rule, which holds that it is unethical for psychiatrists to give professional opinions about public figures without examining them in person.

A new book delves into the president’s mental health.

More than 60,000 mental health professionals have signed John’s petition, which states:

“We, the undersigned mental health professionals, believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States. And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is ‘unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.’”

The 32% who still support Trump are most likely suffering from a mental illness too. The alt-right is as dangerous to the world as that psycho Trump.

Oh give me a break. This OP is silly for a number of reasons.

    1) It's laughable that psychology professionals would find a way to rationalize away their own professional rules. Oh, the cognitive dissonance!

    2) The article doesn't suggest that Trump's supporters suffer from a mental illness--you've misinterpreted what the article says.

    3) If 1/3 of all Americans are dangerously crazy, we're all f***ed.

We've been fucked for a long time as the U.S. slowly becomes more and more tyrannical. Psycho Trump wouldn't care about this even if he realized it is happening. Trump is not that much different than Kim Jong-un. Trump's supporters don't seem to mind that little fact because they are also angry, hateful, psychos, who want to see the 68% of us suffer then die, just like it says in their bible.

It's not rocket science, all you have to do is open your eyes to the alt-right.

Maybe, but what you're saying has little or nothing to do with your OP, which suggests you're not actually thinking, just finding the most convenient, mostly easily found mud to throw.

I don't underestimate the dangers of Donald Trump, but his supporters (as wrong as they may be) are still our countrymen, and they will be our fellow Americans after Trump has left the scene. It's just as wrong to demonize them as it is to demonize LBGT people, ethnic minorities, or people who voted for Clinton (I'm one of those).

The problem I have with this is as in the bullshit claims of deniers about long lists of scientists who signed a petition disagreeing with AGW, most had little scientific training or their training was in totally unrelated fields.

This might be the case here too. Without a better indication as to how qualified the signatories are, it is hard to evaluate this article.

Damn it's easy to believe though.

I'm sure glad you and your logic showed up. Ever time I make a fool out of Rasselas she throws a tantrum and swears never to respond to me again.

Scientists on both sides of AGW are bought and paid for but conservatism used to be about foresight and leaving the world a better place for their children. I have a hard time calling psychology a science when most of them hand out pharmaceuticals like candy. That is what they are taught to do.

Trump is without a doubt bipolar with countless other mental disorders. Drama queen with a messiah complex comes to mind and there are enough followers in red states to be the 32% who worship Trump.

I don't agree with you about much but I do agree with you about this. Trump is bat shit crazy and the only way to explain the people that still support him since he took office is that they have to be some kind of crazy too.

Trump supporters are angry and filled with hate. Destruction and killing is the only thing that makes them happy.

    - the bike lock attacks
    - the balloons filled with sewage
    - the egging

It's based on my life experience studying social anthropology. It doesn't take much to see who the angry hateful people are.
