Because to be conservative on an issue means you are traditional and averse to change or innovation - which is the opposite of being liberal on an issue- which means you are open to change and willing to discard traditional values.

I'm aware not all conservatives agree in lockstep on all the issues. I just got done telling you that. Here I'll repeat it again for you:

And I said nothing about taking away anyone's "conservative leaning" credentials - so God only knows why you decided to put such a phrase in quotes as if I had said them. In fact I just got done telling you the opposite - and that I have no idea what the majority of his political views are. They could very well be conservative I told you (refer to the second bold portion of my last post).

All that I said.... again - is that this individual is not conservative on the issue of the second amendment. And that is just a fact.
So no conservatives can be for any regulations on guns according to you? Wow - ok. Even though I do know conservatives (again) that support some gun regulations. And my "conservative credentials" had nothing to do with you btw. So do me a favor and don't take what I post out of context (you know that thing you whine about all the time?)

And you wonder why people get so frustrated trying to have a rational convo with you.
    Thanks from the watchman

It had everything to do with it. It was outside the second amendment.

The Second Amendment has a legal lineage dating at least to the Roman law dominium.

Nope; the problem is too many people with hard on like to use guns to shoot people.

You have no idea what you're talking about; in the Heller decision, Antonin Scalia said that "the second amendment was not an unlimited right".

So, are you going to check that before you post again on the subject?

He is a conservative after all.

I am addressing the Second Amendment, not a Supreme Court opinion. But if you want to use Scalia's opinion in Heller, which was limited to federal territory, you will need to produce the language in the Second Amendment that supports the amendment not being an unlimited right and the historical evidence to support that as well regarding federal territory.

Supreme court decisions are the law.

You may want to check on The History of Gun regulation in the US...
