True. I can remember some investigations into the Bush administration. Some people were charged, Scooter Libby comes to mind, but it didn't turn out to be much of a deal.

My guess is he will come up with something in the middle that doesn't satisfy either side of the aisle. Much like Comey. Which will leave him (Mueller) in the disfavor of partisans in both parties. Again, much like Comey.

Certainly interesting to watch it all unfold.
Good post. I'm pretty sure that whatever happens, it will be disappointing. How could it not be? Liberals, in particular, are anticipating a massive political orgasm. With such high expectations, disappointment is almost inevitable.

This has been my thoughts all along as well. The republicans are as sly as a fox and are just waiting for the best opportunity to circle their wagons. I think right now, they are holding their cards to make sure Trump does not win a second term....if they can't get him out under an impeachment. Trump cannot expect them to sit back and allow him to bash and insult them without consequence. The GOP has been in politics far longer than he has and know how to play the game.

And of course, the scapegoat was pardoned.

this is both true and yet untrue. Sure, most liberals would like nothing more than Trump being dragged from the WH kicking and screaming. After all, he did confess to collusion during a internationally televised interview. But , most also realize the unlikelihood of that happening. He won't be impeached. The most his distractors can hope for is a fate similar to Nixon. Even though, I'm not sure Trump would simply quit. There are currently those even on MSNBC cautioning people to hold off on their celebrations just yet. Given the reporting it's highly likely Mueller won't find any collusion. At least, not before the election. Less likely he won't after the fact. As Trump just keeps paving the path right to the WH doorstep with his own big mouth.

yeah, Bannon especially talkin all that trash about Mitch is laughable. Mitch may be a flaming partisan. But, he knows Kentucky politics like nobodies business. Bannon has no idea who he's dealing with.

I'll be satisfied if whatever comes out breaks the stranglehold that Trump has over the once-proud GOP.
Mueller is charged with investigating criminal violations of federal law and the judiciary has not been a puppet of Trump....so far.

Is the GOP ready to excuse felonies like treason?

If Donald Trump has done one good thing for the Republican Party, it is that he has caused some folks to forget about just how corrupt the rest of the members of the party have always been.

Exactly....the politicians who have held on to their seats for as long as Mitch has...are hard core and seasoned. Bannon is not a politiician, he is a foaming at the mouth extremist with zero substance. Mitch will toy with him and eventually eat him for lunch. This is the part I am looking forward to, the wolves finally attacking. It will be entertaining to watch Trump screech about this.

    Much has not been corroborated.

And the dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary and the DNC, using info straight out of Russia. So Russian interference in our elections is now okay. LOL And then it isn't, and then it is. Hard to keep up wit you regressives.
