It's not showing obedience. It's paying respect. Most of the rest of us don't get to use our jobs as a platform for political protest. Especially when it drives away customers.

This isn't about free speech. The NFL prohibited teams and players from honoring 9-11 victims, slain cops and victims of domestic violence. Those things were prohibited but acting like a disrespectful punk during the National Anthem is fine, apparently. Goodell is an idiot.

I can actually see that. Just one reason I'm fine with the protest taking place before the game and not interfering with it once it starts.

Lots of people feel that way. So they stopped watching. The NFL has severely damaged their brand.

Well, the players standing part of the "tradition" started less than a decade ago if that makes any difference.

So the outrage is just about petty jealousy for some? I've been saying that for months but it's all if a sudden fine when you bring it up.

That's actually not true. The NFL has not prohibited anyone from honoring 9-11 victims, slain cops, or victims of domestic violence with a pre-game demonstration.

Now, if you're trying to once again compare two different situations and falsely claim they're the same thing, like kneeling for the anthem BEFORE the game and a change to the uniform that woukd be present DURING the game, then that's just garden variety dishonesty in the name of an agenda. Hope that's not what you're doing.

Yup, the US government gave NFL millions to help them recruit for the wars and put on a big show of patriotism before the game. They made it political
