Pelosi: the Founding Fathers Would Totally Support Obamacare

America’s Founding Fathers fiercely held to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—values which Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed align seamlessly with Obamacare.
Pelosi explained why the law is “very sound policy” during a press conference Friday:
To go to back to our founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This law, the affordable care act, is about a healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness. That is solid policy, and the mandate is central to that.
This argument should be added to the montage of lies being promulgated by the Obama administration.

Really, Nancy? You believe this? Then you are a bigger idiot than you appear to be. How about a few quotes from the Founding Fathers in regards to law and government interference in people's lives.

"It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood." - James Madison

"They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security." - Benjamin Franklin

"I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground that 'all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.' To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power not longer susceptible of any definition." - Thomas Jefferson

I am sure I will be corrected by certain left wing trolls, but I don't think they would have approved of this law at all.

    Wrong.

    SOME "totally supported" slavery.

Most, especially those in New England, were pretty much against it.

The PROBLEM, was that there would have been no nation if the "Compromise" had not been found.

Basically, they just kicked the problem down the road.

I WISH they had settled it right then and there, but, that was NOT going to happen at that point and time.

I hate it when anybody talks about what the founding fathers did or did not want. All that matters is what is written in the constitution and how those laws are upheld.

I hate the fact that some people in this country are deifying them. It's so bad that when they read an actual history of a certain person (Warts and all), that some get offended. Like... how dare you, history book, for saying things that actually happened that have screwed up my ideal that George Washington was a perfect human.

There is a good deal of documentation from the Founding Fathers about the slavery issue.

And we should give a shit about what some guys who have been dead for over 200 years might have thought in a time with a different culture, different economy, different laws, and different ideals? They left us the Constitution. I thought you guys on the right were more into what the Constitution says, and not what we think they meant. You guys have a phrase for judges who do the latter... what is it... activist judges, is it?

Sorry, I thought we were living in America in 2012, not living in America in 2012 but totally wishin it was 1776.

I addressed the issue of the Founding Father's because Pelosi did, so my Op is appropriate.

As for me, I am living in 2014 , not 2012.
