Obamacare Will Increase The Cost Of Employer-Sponsored Insurance

Yesterday, the Obama Administration’s Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released a six-page report predicting that Obamacare could cause premiums to increase for nearly two-thirds of small- to medium-sized businesses. “This results in roughly 11 million individuals whose premiums are estimated to be higher as a result of the ACA and about 6 million individuals who are estimated to have lower premiums,” CMS writes. But CMS’ projections almost certainly understate the problem, one that will begin to affect millions of workers in the second half of 2014.

Not surprising. If anyone followed Massachusetts, they knew this was a result.

"Hundreds of healthcare journalists will be attending the Association of Health Care Journalists’ (AHCJ) conference in Boston this week to hear from many speakers with rose-colored ideas about both the 2006 Massachusetts overhaul law. Yet all is not well in the Commonwealth. State officials now predict “extreme premium increases” for many small businesses under Obamacare.

The untold story of the Massachusetts reform is that the small business community has been paying more for health insurance since the commonwealth’s 2006 reform merged sicker individuals into the same risk pool. The legislature has only made matters worse by passing 12 additional mandated benefits since 2006, a cost borne completely by small companies and individuals.

Now the future looks even bleaker for small business. Not only will their highest-in-the-nation premiums go up because of these new regulations, but they will be paying on average $8,000 per family, per plan more in taxes over the next ten years."

It wasn't long ago that Republicans pounced on a CBO report, insisting that it claimed that Obamacare would eliminate over two million jobs. This claim was proven to be complete and utter bunk, so you'll have to excuse me if I don't automatically take this Forbes interpretation at face value.

Here is the original report. Where does it describe the increase?

Cool, I have my very own stalker. Thanks, but you are not my type. Try one of your liberal buddies.

I get it - you won't answer a simple question because you CAN'T without exposing your hypocricy when you willingly accept and expect your government services. Bait on!

Evidently Obama "Misspoke" again. Remember when the president and other Dems promised that Obamacare would cut family premiums by $2,500?

I don't know what is worse. All of Obama's lies or the fact that when faced with the evidence certain people will still deny the truth. Guess they can't handle the truth or the embarassment for being suckered. Fortunately, there are still people in this country who can discern between lies and the truth. None of them are liberals.
