Nobody died in this famous scandal. Notice the timeline. That's over two years and with a media that largely hated Nixon. Do you think the media hates Obama? We are now a mere 18 months since the White House cherry picked the news reports, built their talking points and told the press what to cover and to not cover (by example, if not by agreement). There is clearly a scandal here. Though there were a few cracks in the cover up.

Watergate scandal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    June 17, 1972 break-in

In July 1973, as evidence mounted against the president's staff, including testimony provided by former staff members in an investigation conducted by the Senate Watergate Committee, it was revealed that President Nixon had a tape-recording system in his offices and he had recorded many conversations

Facing near-certain impeachment in the House of Representatives and equally certain conviction by the Senate, Nixon resigned the presidency on August 9, 1974

Here's one of those cracks, AGAIN, reported in the 9/11 - 9/13 range. This one is from one of the most famously liberal cable news networks.

2012 Benghazi attack - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On September 13, liberal commentator Rachel Maddow, during her show on MSNBC, expressed skepticism that the attack was the spontaneous outgrowth of a protest against the video, stating:

NPR's Leila Fadel also spoke to a number of witnesses on the scene. People who were in the area that night. Here's what she reported a short time ago. She said, "A lot of the witnesses we've spoken to, neighbors, the son of a landlord, a Libyan guard who was wounded in the first part of the attack on Tuesday night, all say there was no protest at all. They say it began and ended as an organized attack on the consulate." An organized attack. Anybody who tells you that what happened to our ambassador and our consulate in Libya was as a result of a protest over an offensive movie, you should ask them why they think that.

Maddow outlined a theory in her show of September 12 that the attack was a response to the killing of Abu Yahya al-Libi.

On the last weekend of October a message posted on Facebook by a Political Action Committee (SOS PAC) claiming President Obama denied them backup in Benghazi was taken down twice by the social networking site. After the post was removed and SOS's Facebook account suspended for 24 hours, the post was reinstated and SOS received an email from Facebook apologizing for the matter

I would love to hear from anyone who thinks these reports are all part of a Fox news plot.

Threats of damnation will be ignored.

I don't get your point. It was a clusterfuck. I don't deny that. But where is the criminality? Where is the purposeful malfeasance?

How can you not get a point I have made so often? Bad behavior by a politician (a very common thing) was not confronted by a press whose job it is to confront power (an increasingly common, but alarming truth).

Is the Republican investigation political? ABSOLUTELY. Is it justified? ABSOLUTELY.

It won't result in any legal action against anyone. But it will hopefully damage political and journalistic careers that need to be damaged. And it will hopefully convince politicians and journalists of all stripes to do their jobs, to represent the people, to make politics a necessary evil rather than a preoccupation and (for the press) to confront power and seek the truth.
    Thanks from THOR and Telecaster

The right has blown this all out of proportion. The news media has reported all of this. It's all out there. What more do you want them to do?

WDTV.COM 5 News: U.S. Ambassador, 3 Others Killed in Libya
So what? Make sure you keep using the "Ambassador killed" in your arguments about Benghazi, maybe you will find some ignorant enough to think that what this administration said AFTER it fucking happened was why we lost them.

Who fucking cares and how do you know that this planned terrorist attack wasn't scheduled for another 6 months and when that video came out they saw it as an opportune time to go for it? Even if it is all exactly how you portray it to be and your silly commission makes that evident, what is going to happen? Nothing. Why do you suppose the radical right that is so against spending is willing to spend millions trying to prove something that even if they do, is virtually meaningless? Why don't they go back to spending our money and their time trying to pass laws against women or gays that are equally meaningless?

If the Obama administration used a talking point that was something less than 100% accurate (which really can't be proven), what the fuck is the right doing now! With our current debt and the teabagger so fucking worried about it, how does he justify spending millions over Benghazi? Regardless of what the commission finds all this administration has to do is show a couple 100 instances of where this video led to violence in the mid-east/Africa and say due to this video coinciding with what happened in Benghazi it was only logical to consider it also had an affect and what difference does it make anyway? None. Then the president can address the nation and say "we will get back to addressing topics such as jobs and the economy as soon as the republicans in congress are done spending millions of your dollars trying to decide whether or not my administration used some video as a possible contributing factor in the Benghazi attack".

Keep up the good work, I can easily see more people disgusted by the republican congress's blatant waste of our time and money than they ever will over your stupid fucking video.
