I stole this from a LinkedIn discussion but its interesting.

So, money is speech, so bribing should be legal. You can use your "speech" to convince someone to do something for you.

Removing all pretense, bribing is legal....in DC, it's often called "lobbying"....and it takes two to tango.

    Moving on.

Do you think the rich, the politically connected, incumbent politicians and "news" media should have the loudest voices in shaping the direction of a nation?
    Thanks from One and Kontrary

No. In the case of government, bribery is not legal.

Which isn't to say that it doesn't happen. A lot.

Citizens United made bribery legal and required to win elections in this country.

Are you admitting that's how Obama won a second term? ....or, was that because he's just so wonderful?

The SCOTUS made bribing both parties legal.
The loser here is the voter.

SCOTUS merely recognized and confirmed the rights of average Americans to commingle their money to better disseminate their political agendas. You'd obviously prefer those rights be stripped away, leaving only the independently wealthy, the DNC, the RNC, incumbent politicians and the "news" media to shape the direction of the nation.

I think that's fucking stupid. and dangerous.

Do you even know what the Citizens United case was about? What instigated it?

I certainly don't want ONLY the rich, the RNC, the DNC, incumbent politicians and the "news" media to have the loudest political voice. That's what you anti-Citizens United/anti-free speech drones are unwittingly advocating.
    Thanks from Kontrary
