If the hearings were unfounded, Why did the Justice department at the instruction of President Obama open a Criminal investigation based on the findings of the Oversight Committee?

Why is it that not one single Liberal can answer this question?

There has only been one investigation... once again, proving liberals don't udnerstand the powers granted to each branch.

The Congressional hearings were OVERSIGHT not investigations.

there is only ONE INVESTIGATION the Criminal investigation that is being conducted by the FBI as we speak.

This investigation was not opened at the request of congress but instead by 2 OBAMA APPOINTED INSPECTOR GENERALS.. and AG Lorretta Lynch, and President Obama
    Thanks from John T Ford

    Really?

It was a classic Friday night news dump, and then some. Last Friday, which happened to be the Friday before the Thanksgiving holiday week, the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee released the findings of its investigation into the 2012 attacks on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi. This was the seventh congressional investigation into the Benghazi attacks, by most counts — there have also been investigations by the FBI, the State Department and others. There is an eighth investigation underway in the House, and there will likely be more to come as Republicans take control of the Senate next year."

    There's my link, where's yours?

you just proved John Ponder (Author of your source is ignorant of the separtion of powers)..

    Congress cannot investigate.

    Congress can only investigate congress.

    I. Congress’ Oversight Authority
The constitutional role of Congress is to adopt general legislation that
will be implemented — “executed” — by the executive branch. The
courts have recognized that this general legislative interest gives
Congress investigatory authority. Both Houses of Congress have power,
“through [their] own process, to compel a private individual to appear
before it or one of its committees and give testimony needed to enable it
efficiently to exercise a legislative function belonging to it under the
    Constitution.” McGrain v. Daugherty, 273 U.S. 135, 160 (1927). The
issuance of subpoenas in aid of this function “has long been held to be a
legitimate use by Congress of its power to investigate,” Eastland v.
    United States Serviceman’s Fund, 421 U.S. 491, 504 (1975), provided
that the investigation is “related to, and in furtherance of, a legitimate
    task of the Congress.” Watkins v. United States, 354 U.S. 178, 187 (1957).
The inquiry must pertain to subjects “on which legislation could be had.”
McGrain v. Daugherty, 273 U.S. at 177. Thus, Congress’ oversight
    authority
    153
is as penetrating and far-reaching as the potential power to
enact and appropriate under the Constitution.
Broad as it is, the power is not, however, without limitations.
Since Congress may only investigate into those areas
in which it may potentially legislate or appropriate, it cannot
inquire into matters which are within the exclusive
province of one of the other branches of the Government
    .

CLINTON WAS A MEMBER OF THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH.. so the Congress CANNOT investigate Clinton tenure as SOS..

They have the power of OVERSIGHT findings from oversight hearings can be turned over to the justice department for them to determine if an investigation is needed.

Well it's a good thing they have you to get this straight, have you e-mailed them?

But where were you in 2012?

That's very good, but your pocket money remains the same.

    Thx
