Prof. Kerri Dunn and Claremont McKenna College

Conviction in False Hate Crime Case - latimes

She made a speech at Claremont McKenna College, at an anti hate rally. Her speech and alleged victimization set the foundation for a long lasting racial/gender based social movement on the campus. Before the rally her car was allegedly vandalized with antisemitic and misogynist graffiti, her windows broken and tires slashed. The same College where the dean of Students Mary Spellman was just forced to resign. Now the new dean is creating "separate but equal safe spaces" at the school.

Anyhow, Professor Kerri Dunn vandalized her own car. She has been convicted of filing false police reports and insurance fraud.

Years later back at Claremont McKenna College, with the dean ousted by the activists (above article) they have a list of demands (below). On this list we see a demand for segregated "safe spaces" for students of color AND "a general education requirement for ethnic, racial, and sexuality theory". On the same list of demands they said they want more Critical Race Theory classes to be offered (Prof. Kerri Dunn's specialty). So, they not only want to make these classes a requirement but atop of that they want to create dozens of new courses centered on Critical Race Theory, Post Colonial Studies and Gender Studies. The demands:

They also demand reeducation centering in "microagressions". Two new diversity positions for student affairs and faculty, this is essentially a position to enforce the teachings of Critical Race Theory, Post Colonial Studies and Second/Third wave radical feminism. We can call it the thought police because that's what it is. And it is not optional.

A student class president at the school was also forced to resign over Halloween costumes that signified cultural appropriation:

She was dressed as Justin Bieber dancer, the others were wearing sombreros. Many professors have also been called racist and initially they demanded their resignations.

Anyhow, all of this is coming to a workplace near you in the future. This is our future. Enjoy!

Universities have been taken over long ago, many corporations are now drunk on much of the multicultural / diversity / GLBT Bullshit. It's a disease on society.

Where is the source for this nonsense? Likely ties to govt contracts force companies to push this poison. Liberalism from decades back, warped theories.

Frankfurt school from the 30's, German social theories plays a part somehow. Apparently that poison has been passed on down through the years.

Here's the thing. You probably offer nothing as an alternative, in fact, your socially conservative views actually feeds this shit. Liberals see people like you criticizing this brand of theory and they think it must be golden.

I'm not criticizing " multicultural / diversity / GLBT Bullshit". The theory I'm criticizing goes far beyond respecting other cultures, not condoning racism or sexism. What you seem to be offering is just as bankrupt as the identity obsessed race war activists. In fact, much of it is a reaction to social conservatives.

What too many liberals don't seem to understand is this body of theory goes far far beyond traditional liberal conceptions of equality. They redefine multiculturalism. They redefine equality. They redefine and expand with a much more radical critique of society with an almost pathological obsession with identity. It's not healthy, it's antidemocratic, authoritarian and will ultimately lead to severe levels of social fragmentation. Not solidarity.

I don't understand why she was forced to resign because she was wearing a Justin Bieber costume?

I can respect other cultures, races, and people. I don't need or respect this new social dogma shoved at me from social engineers. I sat through years of this new corporate cult religion.

That person was forced to resign because she was standing next to other students who were taking part in "cultural appropriation" on Halloween. They had sombreros on.

Maybe they'd like to have their own water fountains too.

I mighty just focus on the madness in our schools in this thread rather than post an endless stream of threads on the related topics.

I think this behavior is now pretty common:

    Feminist Professor Threatened

Life doesn't come with trigger warnings. Why should books? | Lori Horvitz | Comment is free | The Guardian

She made the immoral (perhaps soon illegal) mistake of not providing trigger warnings to her spoiled and insane students. How far will they go? Threatening to have her fired. Ya, she doesn't deserve to have a job, she doesn't deserve to be able to support herself because some inane child can't cope with reality. How many threats of this nature are spreading across campus in the US? I think they're quite common. This sort of reaction was once reserved for neo NAZI's, KKK members, fascists of all sorts and staunchly homophobic bigots. Gone are those days. Now, in the United States and Europe to a lesser extent, identity (race/gender) obsessed vitriol is employed against pretty much anyone.

Having an ideology enforced via threats such as this is in no way shape or form what this country should be about. Especially higher education. Even if it's a conservative professor with an opinion that America is a 100% meritocracy. Let him/her have their opinions so long as it's not blatantly hateful and meant to directly harm another human being.

The not so uncommon threat lobbed at this professor:

"Not providing trigger warnings is not only detrimental to a students’ emotional well-being … but it also represents further invalidation/insult of rape survivors. Providing trigger warnings, honestly, is less of a request and more of a student’s demand for this professor if she intends to teach this class again.”

    A more in depth look:

How Trigger Warnings Are Hurting Mental Health on Campus - The Atlantic

This is actually a part of a larger movement online and in our Universities. It's the "social justice' movement led by various pseudo Marxist critical theorists and mind numbingly stupid kids/students. It's not just trigger warnings. It's EVERYTHING.

You know, the big flaw in this "safe space" idea is thinking that someone of the same race or gender or whatever can't say anything hurtful or offensive. The little snowflakes need to toughen up.
