    Mixing politics and entertainment

Doing a Criminal Minds binge watch. In Season 5 now. That was the season which had the episode which was a pilot for Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. Forest Whitaker was the main star of the spin-off. When their actual season started Janeane Garofalo was in the cast. (She isn't in the pilot.)

I had only recently "discovered" Criminal Minds. So I was glad to try to get into the spin-off from the beginning. But I found myself unable to separate Garofalo from her highly anti-rightwing political rhetoric. Had to work hard to try to see her as a character and not as a negative political talking head.

Wondered why the producers thought it was a good idea to cast someone who had been paid to be polarizing.

I can't remember how many episodes I watched -- maybe three.

Then the show was cancelled due to low ratings after only 13 episodes.

I don't suppose Garofalo was entirely to blame -- hehe -- but I wonder if her being such a polarizing political personality was a significant factor in the show's struggle for ratings.

When celebrities get political, does that affect how much you're able to enjoy their performances?

    yep!

And it's playing havoc with my dreams.

What's really weird is that I've been watching it online at my desktop computer, so I put in a different show in the DVD player in the bedroom when I want to fall asleep. Lately that has been Hercules with Kevin Sorbo.

So I'm dreaming about some really wacky serial killers.

Leftists disseminate their propaganda by way of the education system, alphabet "news" media, daytime and late night talk shows, Hollywood movies, and TV dramas/sitcoms.

Is it any wonder the US is drowning in Gruber's Stupids

It's affecting my dreams too. I dreamed of a serial killer of animals and for some reason every donation I garnered to help them made it worse - doesn't make sense how but dreams don't make sense!

I like the episode where that pretty actress likes Reid - I think I'd go out with Reid, even though he's not the hotty.

    He's a sweetie.
    Thanks from Amelia

blu-ray players to stream your netflix are cheap right now :-). Black Friday deals sometimes stay the same until they run out - I paid $56 for mine.

That spinoff didn't last very long so you won't have to give it much though anyways.

Only in Hollywood would they cast a former male model as a socially awkward nerd who can't get a date.

I generally don't let it throw me too much. Public Enemy is one of my favorite bands ever. I've been listening to Senor Peligro by Ministry a lot. I just kind of ignore the lyrics because the riffs are so badass.
If I was going to not watch someone's movies out of disgust, it would be Roman Polanski and I still watch Chinatown and Rosemary's Baby.
