    Gop: Rip 2016

Robert Reich: The Republican Party Died in 2016.

The one commonality of these groups is that they have nothing in common, except, perhaps, their shared belief that only President Obama stands in the way of each of them getting whatever it is they want. They have no leader, no binding principles of what they are for, rather they define themselves simply by broad-brushing what they’re against. This makes them impossible to negotiate policy with, because no single body speaks for their interests. They are all, indeed, like a pack of hyenas feeding on the carcass of the dead elephant. This is why their “debates” have devolved into incendiary, juvenile battles of schoolyard insults and taunts, not fit for public consumption. There is no longer any adult, unifying presence of an actual political party capable of providing a coherent framework for stopping the feeding frenzy. If you vote Republican, beyond this hatred of Obama you really have no idea what you’re voting for, or what you’re going to get.

Well the republican party needs to be shaken up from the neo-con establishment it has devolved into. America needs another choice, an alternative to what we've been getting. Now sadly, it might be getting even worse than what it was before, hard as it is to believe. But about instead of just the republican and democratic candidates debate this year, we invite the green and libertarian parties as well? Expose the people to more options than they might think they have.

I don't know about the RIP part but, that is certainly an accurate description of the Republican Party. I see some of the "Republicans" here and it is obvious they don't care about the damage they are causing to the country. And even if a Republican wins the Presidency, the one issue they may have voted for him for will be shaded by all the necessary compromises they will make and that is just with the people within their own party, as we see with the nonownership of the Bush Administration. Their uncompromising ideology isn't going to change the fact that demographics are changing.

Robert Reich is spot-on as usual.

And now the bogus claims against Obama ("He's a Muslim. He was born in Kenya, He's a divider" etc) is being replaced by "Hillary is a liar!" and "Sanders is a Socialist!" by the sound-bite GOP.

It is still puzzling what is in it for the GOP stooges and tools who protect the ultra-wealthy and parrot these memes, it seems to me that it is all peer-pressure driven now and that's about it.

And we see it here at PH everyday, I'm sure one will chime-in right after this post.

    Thx

    Those claims originated with Hillary.

I don't care if he is a Christian or Muslim. There has only been one event that caused me to take pause to think he was a Muslim and it was the words from his own mouth.

it was an interview with ABC News.

What Christian utters the words "My Muslim Faith"

WTF does that prove? Does it negate all the years he has attended a Christian church? He said McCain hasn't suggested he was a Muslim... to his credit.

"What I'm saying is, he hasn't suggested I'm Muslim."

Too bad the 18 second snippet included that, huh?

And are you really trying to convince us you agree with Hillary on anything?

Show us where Hillary claimed Obama was a Muslim.

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...er-fact-check/

On one hand you screech because he attended the incendiary Rev. Wright's church for 20 years, then you turn around and claim he is a Muslim... well you can't have it both ways.

He made a slip in his speech and corrected it, does that "prove" he is a Muslim?

If he just says the word "Muslim" does that "prooove" he is a Muslim?

Well, it seems enough for you.

    Again, the "sound-bite GOP."

    Thx
