Rep. Tim Ryan: Democrats Will Cease To Be National Party

It certainly sounds like Rep. Tim Ryan gets it.

However, I don't have much confidence his colleagues will listen to him.

It may be too late for the Party as a whole.

We can expect to see another heavy handed blow to the Democratic Party in 2018.

I'm not sure there is a recovery.
    Thanks from Jeremy

Am guessing the Democrat party survives just fine.

As will the GOP (regardless of what antics Trump may engage in.)

Isn't Ryan just trying to bump out Pelosi and take the Minority Leader spot??

(Odds on the Vegas strip is that he gets his butt handed to him. Nancy is a $$$ generator. The lifeblood of politics.)

Well I'm sure (with video) that "predictions of the demise of the opposition party" happen every election cycle.

And it has been happening for at least the last several decades.

Ryan has a point about the Democratic Party dumping the working class for the donor class.

He also has a point about the Democratic Party being decimated and in need of change or they will lose all and any national influence they have.

True, his comments may be aimed at boosting his chances of ousting Pelosi, but his comments also ring true.

The Democrats have less seats in Congress than they have held since 1929.

Not exactly just another election cycle.

And he is absolutely correct. They screwed up.

Schumer was talking about it at length on the Sunday morning shows. They know they made a mistake so now they will focus on correcting the perception that they allowed to burn them.

It's a big league game and the national parties are good at playing it. This cycle the GOP (amazingly/surprisingly) pulled the upset win. But memories are short and voters fickle. New games to be played in 2018 and 2020.
    Thanks from bajisima

Well since they (Democrats) picked up seats in both houses this cycle......your statement sort of can't be possible.

Schumer is also talking about preventing Trump from trying to repeal Obamacare.

The repeal of Obamacare was one of the things that got Trump elected.

Shcumer's comments and possible future actions against Trump will not bode well with voters.

It appears the Democrats are poised to double down on fail.
