Trump is a pathological liar, so if you think I am treating him unfairly, that's going to be your problem I am sad to say.

Nevertheless, I am still a liberal who is genuinely willing and even able, God forbid, to find some sort of consensus with my conservative brethren.

I don't want to make you my enemy.

I have way more important things to care about than the tit for tat of politics.
Trump will have to answer for the lying at some point.

    Everyone has to, even Hillary.

    I'm not a conservative.

Trump can believe Obama wire tapped him, just like the liberal democrats can believe he is in league with the Russians. People are going to believe what they believe - and often times without any evidence to support it.

Realistically, the only people Trump will have to answer to politically are his supporters - those who put him in power. And they could care less about him going after Obama. So this isn't a danger to the President.

That's exactly why I say Trump's disapproval rating will end-up around 25% or so by the end. There are those people where no lie is too much, but they are in the minority because more people despise lies than support them, and I am among that majority. In fact, I suspect you are in that majority as well though, albeit, reluctant to say the least.

I predict you'll come around since you seem a decent sort despite the fact you shun conservatism.

I'm more in tune with the President's brand of populism (especially economically) rather than conservative orthodoxy.

Trump ran on issues I have been promoting for decades.

So long as President Trump builds the border wall and reforms our trade policies - punishing those companies who move offshore to manufacture he will do fine.

Trump's candidacy was an issue-oriented candidacy. He ran on a certain set of policy proposals that are very important to a lot of us. Issues we have been waiting decades for a politician to address (ever sense NAFTA and the trade polices of the 1990's bankrupted our towns and drove all our jobs overseas). So there is no way we are going to abandon him over the silly drama of politics.

I don't necessarily shun conservatism. I agree with them on certain issues - such as the right to bear arms etc. They just have a different set of priorities.

It was a masterful spin and deflection job. I wonder if any of the Trump haters will admit that Obama shares the media manipulation gene with "The Donald?"
    Not even close.

The thing is, Trump's populism is fake; he has his goods made overseas to squeeze a few more dollars out of us. To be sure, I don't have a problem so much with a businessman doing such to make a buck, but to lie to me and us about it afterward pisses me off. The incessant lies; that's what I can't abide and never will.
