    Trump polling snapshots

This morning, the RCP aggregate has Trump's widest approval gulf so far -- 50.9% disapproval to 43.1% approval.

Notice, even tilting so far in Trump's favor, they get orange spray tan drippings on them...

that the BEST numbers that Rasmussen can "massage" for Trump are

    47% Approval
    53% Disapproval

Which means "splitting the difference" even....halfway between Gallup and Rassy? Trump gets about

    40% Approval

    55% Disapproval

and maybe 5% on the fence

FWIW, Rasmussen regularly had Obama over 50 percent approval when Gallup and others had him in the low 40's.

I remember this vividly because of the irony of it in light of their reputation.

There's something outlier-y about their method, but it's not necessarily partisanship driving it.

I don't want to say this, because it will be used against me, but I used to check Obama's RCP numbers often, and would get pissed at Rasmussen because they kept pulling his average back up. Made me wonder if they were overcompensating for the bad partisan rep they have. Then I heard they had changed management, so I wondered if they actually had changed their methodology to something less right-favoring.

Yes Rasmussen consistently had Pres Obama's ratings as the highest, after 2013. The organization was sold in 2013 when Scott Rasmussen retired. They poll actual voters, those that have previously voted, not potential voters which can include young adults which don't turn out.

"Since Scott Rasmussen's departure from the polling firm in July 2013, Rasmussen Reports polls have consistently ranked as the most favorable poll in President Obama's favorability rating..."

Rasmussen polling now rates pretty average.
