https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...m-links-russiaBritain’s spy agencies played a crucial role in alerting their counterparts in Washington to contacts between members of Donald Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives, the Guardian has been told.
GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.
Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.
The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as sigint – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the “Five Eyes” spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said.
Another source suggested the Dutch and the French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors.
The whole world is just making it all up and only the US alt-right knows what's really going on.
Any passive intelligence that is gathered by staff is percolated up to the full Intelligence Community.
Refine intelligence based on the specific needs of its department (that is, Energy or State will have different needs, so its officers refine the information to suit the needs of their mission).
Manage any coordination for counter-intelligence to prevent critical secrets from leaking within that department.
Big Five + 1 are the key players in gathering, refining intelligence:
CIA - civilian intelligence + covert ops
NSA - signals intelligence, cryptology, cyber warfare
NRO - designs and operates all spy satellites
NGA - geospatial intelligence modeling + total geospatial predictive modeling
DIA - defense and military intelligence + blackops
FBI - non-intelligence, but critical law enforcement and counter intelligence.
All US intelligence falls under the Director of National Intelligence who has full executive authority to unify intelligence activities and create a common strategy.

trump wasn't the nominee in 2015.
the media has been in the hammer down mode on trump because they despise him as he does them.
in the famous words of that wendy's lady "where's the beef?"
Right now your burying your head in the sand about Flynn, Manafort, Page, and Kushner. Were they or were they not members of Trump's campaign? Is there or isn't there some major irregularities about what they said and what they did?(remember they all denied meeting Russians with three of them filing paper work not disclosing the info).
Lets see were the beef is at the end of the investigation but it sure smells like its all on the grill now!
