North Korea: The greatest threat to world peace

In my humble opinion, the greatest threat to world peace, and the greatest threat to east asian regional stability is that political train wreck called North Korea. I predict war with North Korea within this year. We will win the war but the Korean peninsula will be devestated for decades. South Korea, a major economic power in the region, will be physically ruined.

North Korea has impoverished its citizens to fund its political elite and its misguided weapons programs. It constantly threatens its neighbors and the United States with its junior league nuclear weapons program. Even China can't control the bat sh*t crazies running North Korea.

I understand that North Korea has over ten thousand artillery pieces pre-sighted on Seoul, South Korea.

Emperor Trump has claimed that he'll "go it alone" dealing with North Korea. But how? He has yet to explain what grand plan he has in mind. Perhaps make Dennis Rodman the ambassador to North Korea? (Humor intended)

Sending a carrier battle group to the area has simply pissed off the North Koreans and pushed them closer to a resumption of the Korean War.

Get ready for a resumption of the Korean conflict before the end of 2017. And get ready for mushroom clouds.

    Cheers,

    Bourne

Has anything at all changed there in 60 years?

I agree it's one if the worst places on Earth. But a threat to others? I don't know.

They want a nuke and the capacity to hit the west for the same reason Iran and Pakistan did. To avoid being the next "regime change".

They don't have any aspirations outside their own land, they just want to protect their positions and their fiefdom.

This is horrible for anyone inside, but I don't think it comes even close to the endless blood soaked nightmare Saudi Arabia and Iran are constantly unleashing on each other and everyone around them. Decade after decade after bloody decade.

I'm binge watching Walking Dead right now as I type this and if I had a choice of being a character in this show or a 40 year old who lived in Iraq through the Iraq Iran war, Gulf War, Iraq War and now ISIL occupation - I'd take the zombies.

At least they don't have air power.

    Greetings Doc!

North Korea is the only country who has publicly stated that they have nuclear weapons, are continuing to develop advanced nuclear weapons and, perhaps worse, they are developing intercontinental delivery systems to carry those weapons to North America, including Canada and the United States.

I accept bluster from many nations. But not North Korea. They are serious. Military threats, economic and political sanctions mean nothing to them. They won't even accept chastisment from their only ally China.

I hope that I am wrong, but mark my words, we will resume war (remember, only a truce exists) on the Korean peninsula before the end of 2017.

    God help us all.

    Cheers,

    Bourne

    True.

But Saudi Arabia is the only country that successfully killed thousands of Americans on American soil, and had the US react by knocking off their regional rival for them, which they then launched a full on occupation of with a proxy army (ISIS) that follows their exactly identical political, cultural, and religious model.

Let's see North Korea do that.

Thank you. But the Middle East is a completely different culture from North Korea. Referencing Saudi Arabia in the context of this thread is irrelevant.

Pakistan does not have ICBM's, nor does Iran.

Iran and North Korea are working together for miniaturized nuclear weapons and long range missiles. The dreadful Iran deal, another mess Øbama has left behind, has aided this endeavor by providing tens-of-billions of dollars to Iran.

How do you know that? Proof please.

I believe most of NK's weaponry is fairly dated at this point.

It's reliability is seriously in question.

Saddam had state of the art weaponry compared to NK and they didn't pose a problem except driving through all their blown up tanks.

NK does have excellent special forces, maybe the best in the world, but they are very limited with no ability to project that power so no, NK doesn't pose a threat to us.

They could steamroll into SK fairly easily but to what end?

It would only be a matter of time before they are pushed out again and they aren't going to set off a nuke on their own soil.

China would probably let us spank them for a bit then ask us to back off and we will and Trump will look like a hero.

Yep, that's what will probably happen.

You are horribly misguided. But it's not unexpected from someone so misinformed as you.

Well when you get around to pointing out the flaws in my argument I will address those.

    Until then keep trolling away.
