Interesting perspective on the neo GOP.....

"America has never seen a party less caring than 21st-century Republicans"

In a nutshell, the above consolidates, albeit, in an interesting way, why I and many family members and friends left what has become the neo republican party.

Jesus would be a socialist today. Republicans will never admit that small little fact.

Wow! It's as if someone looked inside of me, the real, human part of me and forgiving me my ineptitude, has said what's in my soul for me. For that I say thank you to The Guardian and to that wonderful writer and thinker who laid it out for all to see and maybe even accept those truths whether we be Democrats or Republicans.

I'm scared, disgusted and in disbelief that a group of so-called leaders have banded together to tear at the very fabric of everything we have come to accept and expect from government and those people we hired to steer the ship that is our futures. I've been on this planet for 67 years and have never seen anything that even comes close to the way we've been lied to, stolen from and now even scared out of our wits as we wonder if a madman from Korea will choose to fight our madman in chief using innocent lives as a scorecard.

I'll admit, I never thought for a second that Americans would be so disenfranchised and fed up with the ever widening gap between our employees and the rest of us as far as income and quality of life are concerned, that we would buy into this horrific scam foisted upon us and the not so well hidden agenda to inflict much more damage than already done.

The fact is that we, as Americans must insist that this President and those co conspirators around him be tossed on their ears before it all comes crumbling down around us. Believe it or not, if we do nothing, things CAN get worse. Pence!! Get rid of this crazy person before he gets us all killed. You alone have the power to stop him in his tracks right now! Do it!

Back in the 90's Gingrich and Hyde almost made me give up on the GOP forever because they were such dicks. Gingrich's answer to a crime where someone cut a fetus out of a woman and left her to die was to jump out in front of the news cycle and blame the seething welfare underclass.

There was a line from the movie, The American President, about how someone could claim to love America but hated Americans and that so very much applied to Gingrich.

For me, for then, Bush saved the day -- made me give the party another chance -- by embracing the label of compassionate conservatism.

    But compassion is all gone.

It's a bunch of little Gingriches running around -- with his heartlessness but without his ability to legislate -- so thank goodness for the latter at least.

I have respect for HW Bush but I have no use for the son. He let himself be used to sell the war in Iraq using a bunch of made up crap so that the war profiteers in his group could reap the spoils while thousands died in vain. Whether unwittingly or knowingly, I blame him for being such a weakling and a used car salesman for Cheney, Rove, Kristol, Rumsfeld and others. Trump reminds me a little of W in that he loved to strut around admiring himself and even once declaring victory when young Americans were dying in that bullshit war against the wrong people.

It illustrated what can and will happen when big money people are left in charge of policy decisions. Now we see an almost complete capitulation to the Military Industrial Complex and abdication of duties as commander-in-chief. Normally that would make me crazy but in this particular instance or instances, I'm sort of glad that at least a few sane men and women are making some of those decisions instead of Trump.

I shouldn't have to feel that way because we should not have an obviously demented guy in the White House. The realization seems to finally be occurring to even those on the right but let's just hope it's not too late. Ironically if it takes something as seemingly mundane as taxes to bring him down then I think his refusal to show his tax returns are a blessing in disguise. You on the right can hate Obama and Clinton (take your pick which one) all you want to but this current situation would not be happening under either of their watches because they were sane people and we would have a Cabinet who at least knew a little about the world and how it works.

Of course Clinton would have had a sane cabinet.

It's unfortunate that she didn't have what it took to get the chance to appoint one.
