Simple, basic question for supporters of "school choice" (aka school vouchers)---

A great deal of talk is made in support of the idea of "giving the parents' choice", but I'm curious....

does the SCHOOL get a choice?

Can they CHOOSE.....WHICH vouchers from which families they will accept and which ones they won't?

((Opponents?....watch the responses very closely and something hidden will be revealed....or desperate attempts made to keep it hidden))

Depends, sometimes they do. Here in New England we have more private schools than anywhere else and in many cases, the states pay to send kids there as there is no public school close or one that can handle a disability for example.

    "Depends, sometimes they do"......so "Yes"?

Yes, under a school voucher system, the school can choose NOT to accept the voucher of a family?

Sure and so can some public schools. When my eldest was in high school she had a classmate expelled for drugs and no public school would enroll him. His parents had to decide whether to send him to a charter school that helped "troubled" youth or just let him get a GED. Its a local thing from what I understand.

Guess I'm giving it away, but ....you're missing the point, bajisima....

Let's imagine it's 2025....and school vouchers is the law of the land across America (or at least Red State America).....

and we go to Anytown, USA......where there are ONLY (formerly) public schools.

School A accepts the vouchers of the McMurphys, the Berkleys, the O'Tooles, the Chatsworths.....School B accepts the vouchers of the Winchesters, the O'Keefes, the McDougals, the Van Heusens....

and A and B decide to "decline" the vouchers of the Smiths, Johnsons, Williamsons families?

and their kids end up at School C who is the only school left with openings?

You see any problem in that?
