You seem to be looking at "SHORT TERM".

Not smart when you are measuring results in the stock market.

You, too, should talk to MaryAnne about time horizons regarding to the markets.

At first the world was shocked by Trump's election but they quickly said, "maybe it won't be so bad". And so the markets continued percolating along as they had been for the past 6 years.

Sadly now the world is coming to realize that their hopes that Trump would bring a business man's sensibility to the White House have evaporated.

He brings no sensibility. Of any kind. And now we're floundering.

You did not seem aware that the professionals have issued warnings on over evaluation and the bubble. Interesting that you say that as you were trying to compare May 2016 to May 2017. You also did not seem to be aware of percentage growth.

Why not the past 20+ years?

    Or 50+ years?

I am a long term investor, as most investors should be.

Trump will be judged on lots of things, but not on a month or two of stock market performance.

    I don't remember comparing May 2016 to May 2017.

It would be hard to lose money in the market in the last 6 months.

I'm sure than it can be done.

But pretty much all reasonable, diversified portfolios have increased in value recently.

Trump's initial market surge was based on Wall Street's false assumption that he (Trump) could actually do what he promised about the economy.
That's over and everyone knows this guy is an incompetent buffoon who's good at only one thing: Cheating people for personal gain.
It's Nixon in his final..insane days!

Watch the stock market and stop the BS.

I have watched the stock market.

I have watched it rise quite nicely in the past 6+ months.
