Leaders and managers: Trump's the latter, but not very good

Fundamentally, Trump is not a leader. He's a manager. We've had manager presidents before, however, Trump's only management experience is with a mom-and-pop lifestyle business in which he can be as narcissistic as he is compelled to be. It's a huge enterprise, but we should never confuse his role in it as being a "CEO." CEOs, over-rated as they often are, have to satisfy boards of directors and shareholders.

A corporation might engage an executive coach, but most competent coaches would quickly determine he's uncoachable. So the corporation would spend some millions of dollars firing him in a way that they wouldn't get sued.

    Thanks voters!

Who are some good managers who could have pulled off being a good POTUS?

Bush 41 was a manager. He thought of the presidency as a caretaker position where you just deal with whatever comes at you. He wasn't a BAD president, though he couldn't get re-elected--mostly because his manager brain wanted to raise taxes after his leader brain had insisted he wouldn't.

As far as managing goes Trump is doing a great job.

Numbers are up in all areas for the nation.

    You can't dispute that.

You all criticize him for his leadership only.

    I can dispute that.

Since you gave zero examples of Trump's proven actions that has effected any 'numbers'...in a positive way.

Trump is the co-Pilot who is flying the plane on auto-pilot while the Captain is in the latrine taking a piss.

Numbers are up all across the board.

Whether you want to attribute that to Trump or not is up to you.

But it ends the lefts stupid talking point that Trump would be a disaster for the nation.

    Obviously he isn't.

Let's see how the new Chief of Staff works out.

See, I think he'll fail too, because Trump has to touch everything. The role of the COS, however, is to filter and protect the President so she can focus on her agenda.

I think Hillary Clinton has leadership skills, but she's been damaged by issues both within and beyond her control. She's probably pretty adept at management, though.

Joe Biden impresses me as being "leaderly," but I'm not sure I have enough information to make that call.
